As mentioned before, once you get a decent weapon, they are pretty easy to kill. And once I kill them off, I don't get any more and I just go about my business until they show up the next day. Rinse & repeat - not a big deal. And I am also using them to up my fist fighting skills. I actually find this fun.

I do get sick of them honestly. They're like the perfect distillation of a trash mob. They have no apparent leash range, always showing up and chasing you no matter how irrelevant they've become, with a ranged attack that is irritating but not dangerous, and no matter how much they seem to want a fight they start running around in circles when you turn around and smack them. I did enjoy the massacre for a while but man, it gets old.

It's a pity too because the black forest is one of the best looking biomes IMO, but I just don't like spending time in it.

Just wait until you hear your first Drake screech. They're the worst IMO. They do no real damage, and their screech is like fingers on a chalkboard. I pretty much tune them out now and ignore them, but it still makes me dread going into the mountains.

Are you by any chance ignoring the day/night cycle and/or happily sitting next to a spawn point?

You say that now, but resin and greydwarf eyes are always useful. Once you've got a decent weapon, you can quickly 2-shot them and barely miss a step.

Yeah ikr, its really annoying, especially when you're trying to build.

I'm using them to level up my fistfighting skills.
