If you were building something then it wasn't clear terrain. Sounds like your hitbox got into a physics argument with the sundial construction, it's pretty common while building small details.

ok I was on a clear hill looking down at my fort. No damage took place but I had my wards on so i would have heard if something was raiding my place. If the developers say there isn't earthquakes then there you go it must have been something though. I was in the clear because i was building a sun dial. thanks for the comments

There are no Earthquakes. "The ground is Shaking" means the base you are in is being raided by trolls.

It happened to me once when I was standing in a small "V" depression on top of a terrain wall I built. It was a brief wtf moment but I recognized the sound effect from the hillside surfing.

When someone slides down in coop whos close by, you get effect by the shacking too.
Its a bug or something not really sure.

You can get a pretty violent screen shake effect sometimes when standing on uneven ground. It's the same shake that happens when you're sliding down a steep incline, only you're not moving. I too thought the ground was shaking when it first happened to me.
