Dragon bed doesn't refresh rested buff?

Sleeping in the dragon bed isn't giving me rested. I have to stand around waiting for it to apply.

You got it, apparently the dragon bed is just tall enough to pop me out of sheltered but the normal bed was not. My fire was on the first floor with an entire cooking station, and my bedroom was on the second floor.

Do you and Gladi8er65 both work for Microsoft? I ask because your comments are both technically correct and completely irrelevant.

One cannot sleep in a bed unless one is within the area in which a fire can provide the rested bonus. Ipso facto, if Damnion can sleep in his dragon bed he is close enough to a fire to get the rested buff.
Not their employee but technically correct, completely relevant and actually correct....:steamhappy:

Doesn't matter what time I go to sleep at, if I use the dragon bed it doesn't give me the rested buff, If I use a normal bed it does.

My guess is that something is wrong with the Valheim files on your machine or you need to watch your bedtime. I say this because:

1) Sleeping in any bed always gives me the rested buff.

2) 20 seconds refers to real time and represents a much larger chunk of Valheim time. The passage of Valheim time is accelerated when a viking sleeps.

3) A smelter full of ore will process all of it if one has loaded enough coal while a viking sleeps in Valheim. If a viking loads a smelter with ore and coal and stands in a sheltered area with a fire watching the smelter, the viking will get the rested buff before the smelter spits out more than one or two ingots.

4) A viking will always arise at the crack of dawn whether he or she goes to bed in the late afternoon, evening, or midnight. Perhaps you went to sleep at the Valheim equivalent of 0400, leaving too little Valheim time before the crack of dawn to get the rested bonus.

Please note, my guess is not a WAG (Wild Ass Guess). I made arguments based on the game's mechanics as I have observed them. This makes my guess a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess).

Sleeping in the bed doesn't give the rested buff, but it might LOOK that way to you because you keep sleeping in the bed, BUT, you can't sleep in the bed unless, what?.... That's right... Unless there is a fire nearby... The FIRE is giving the rested buff (not the bed or sleep) and the more comfort items placed within range, the longer the duration the buff will last.

Out in the field, you can get rested buff by simply making fire and sitting by it... no bed is even required, but the bed does make the buff a tiny bit longer. (adds +1 comfort for regular bed within range)

12 but that only affects how long the rested buff lasts, not how long it takes to acquire.

Well, something is broken in your game then. If you have a comfort level of 12, then you should get plenty of rested bonus just with the time spent sleeping in either bed. Hare you tried re-building it and/or moving it?

Sleeping dont give anything in this game just accelerating the time ( thats useless if know how to use your time ) nothing more , you can take rested buff just staying where confort buildings are

We're not going to start complaining about having to wait 20 seconds are we? Doesn't the sleeping animation take close to that? I literally have a portal next to my bed, and I sometimes just pop-in, sleep, and pop-out, and I've never not gotten it (that I know of).

Gaining the Rested buff requires the Resting status for an uninterrupted period of time (approximately 20 seconds). While you maintain Resting, you can move to a zone of higher comfort to automatically extend the duration of your Rested buff.

Sleeping in a bed does not automatically apply the Rested buff, but the time spent sleeping does count against the required Resting time. The benefit of the Dragon Bed is that it provides 2 comfort where a basic bed provides only 1. Please note that you do not need to sleep in the Dragon Bed to take advantage of its comfort value (i.e. someone sleeping in a basic bed near a Dragon Bed enjoys the better bed's comfort).
