Question about progression:
Does killing the boss start/end events or does placing the trophy on the altar start/end events?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I appreciate the link, and had previously refered to it many times, but I don't see anything on there that defines exactly what triggers the events "killing the boss" or "hanging the bosses head on the altar"

I believe It's when you kill the boss, as the game marks boss completed when killed. When in devcommands you can reset boss progression and this progression check gets marked when boss is killed And I also remember killing Yagluth and before I hung the trophy up I had fulings spawning in different biomes.

Events trigger from killing the boss on -that- specific map, not placing the trophy on the stone pillar of that map. This is easily tested by killing a boss on 1 seed but placing the trophy on the pillar of another that you've never killed a boss on. The boss killed one will have the next tier events while the nobosskills map will still be spawning eikthyr's event.

It's the trophy being placed on the alter at the original spawn point that progresses things. Basing this on killing Yagluth on a single player game and bringing his head to mount on my wall (but not the alter) on a multiplayer server. It didn't affect anything at all other than how awesome my longhouse looked.

Thanks for that information...did you confirm it later by adding the trophy to the altar?
Would it be possible for a mod/dev to answer this question?

Yagluth would be a bad example since Mistlands isn't in yet.

In theory troll raids are set off by (a) killing a troll and (b) killing the Elder
I have had troll raids without mounting the Elder's head
