Spooky mistlands

So... this update isn't out yet right? What's going to happen if I wander around the mistlands right now? I'm right at the edge of the biome and I'm afraid I'll die suddenly and unexpectedly if I poke around.

One thing to consider, If there will be a new boss associated with the new Mistlands content. If there is a new boss, then venturing to the current Mistlands would be fine. The reason being, A new boss will require a new stone at the starting location and as others have stated previously explored areas do not receive updated content. Therefore old starting area won't get new boss stone.

TLDR; Once Mistlands drops we'll likely have to start new worlds anyway.

there is also a console command to load the content into the game but both methods come with the risk of the world seed dumping the new content into bases but no one should have built there any way so it should be 100% safe
I believe you are referring to the genloc command (for anyone who reads this thread).

As an aside, I'm not sure how well that works for the ice caves.

For H&H, there was an Upgrade World mod on Valheim Nexus that did all this for explored content, worked well for "most" places so long as you didn't have anything built where content was placed.

I wouldn't say 100% safe. I had a map corruption doing that after H&H came out due to changes on places I built. Assuming the changes only affect the Mistlands, yeah, I don't see it being an issue, but if they had new herbs and other fauna/flora into the rest of the world, the same could happen.

Don't worry, you won't spontaneously combust! But you will want to get out as soon as possible, as it's a pretty spooky place at the moment. No unique hazards or enemies that I know of, it's just very grim and atmospheric.

The worst that will happen is that the areas you have explored won't get updated when it finally goes through, probably.

IF you explore a mistlands area before the content patch hits, that area will NOT update for that world when the patch is released.
