Defeated bonemass, what now?

I just feel kinda empty since have been gearing towards that battle for so long and it was easier than i believed. Died once, on the 2nd -blocked- hit from bonemass but after coming back and getting my stuff back it was more about waiting. Poison cloud to dissipate or him moving out of it, to regain stamina or health before going yet again in. Peppered him with over 100 arrows while kiting just to have something to do.
And in the end he got stuck between some trees :steamfacepalm: :steamsad:

Have been meddling with mountains while just exploring and with plains while exploring the edges of that swamp and can't really say which biome would be my next target. So far have killed a wolf, died to another.
While accidentally wandering too near plains, heard a brief Buzz before half of my health got evaporated. That must be the mosquito, i had time to think before heard another Buzz. There were 2 of them.
Met a lox while going to retrieve my things. Got my stuff and decided to melee him. It was a bad move. After another kiting exercise took him out with arrows. Continued to push little by little into plains until found some sort of village populated with baddies. Took good care to start sniping away the nearest one. He took hits and before long closed in. It was 1 star fueling. I ran.

So, both biomes feel equally challenging but which one is better when thinking about upgrading workbench etc?

Or i could give sailing a try

You died once and it was easier than you expected?

How many times did you expect to die?

You've got 2 more biomes to conquor.

Make a base in the mountains.

Tame a 2 star wolf. Breed him. Get a pack of wolves.

You still got lots to do.

I love the fact that he died fighting bonemass... and calls him "not that deadly".

This is a rhetorical post. He's not interested in tips, and advice on what to do next, he simply wanted to express his dissatisfaction in the form of a question. I

For me the whole mining and transport thingy was done in 3 in-game days. Day to locate silver nodes and clearing enemies with only a bit of mining, another day to just mine and on the 3rd day transported all the goodies to my new base. Ok, ok, had done bit of scouting and killing while getting those eggs but basically 3 days were dedicated to getting that ore.

What gear did you make? Mine went to shield, bow and wolf cape.
All of it. All maxed out. Also, good luck finding the spawning locations for the 4th and 5th boss. There's only one location on the entire map for each one. I've scouted most of the islands and I can't find them.
What a mad lad :D
You really wanted that gear huh :)

I do not mind even if there are only one summoning locations for last bosses but what i am hopeful is that there are multiple markers as to where those summon locations are. Please tell me there are many of the markers! From what i heard is that on the mountains, there are buildings of some sort that are guarded by skeletons and inside of those, there could be one of those markers. Never just stumbled upon a summoning place and not finding them sounds horrible! You really have a challenging seed.
Tell me, is this also yours first playthrough?

Like... my world is a series of small islands, so I HAD to invest in sailing because there was no other way around, and even being able to beeline the mountains from my base, it took me some 8 hours real time to mine and move enough silver to be shipped home. It's really bad.

Sorry that you had to go through all that but personally have had wonderful time with this seed. And already "had to" make another base for refining iron. This second base is located just perfectly. It is in the meadows and IRL travel time to copper is about 1min, to iron also about 1min and to the base of the mountain, where i had chests full of silver and teleport, about 1,5min so transporting ores while running the buff from first boss was really fast. Now i have enough of the stuff and have build& upgraded silver shield, the poison bow and wolf cape. Could try out the wolf fang spear, if you can recommend it, but really like to have a shield and a weapon in a battle.

Well, had to try out how good my gear was against him. He really murdered me with two blocked hits but after that just parried and that only did 5-6points of damage to me. So, yes, the fight turned out to be bit too easy that way. I really did not expect that upgraded iron mace could do that much damage to him.

I now have three eggs but no location for the 4th boss and i am wondering why i keep on exploring those dreadful mountains. If there is no upgrades to my gear, i see no point in killing the 4th boss before trying to explore plains more -no sailing required for that :steamhappy:
BTW; Are obsidian arrows the way to go with 4th boss? And how to handle those sea serpents, can i just kill them in the deep water and collect floating loot or do i need to lure them to the shore?
Oh no I wasn't including transporting time. JUST to mine all that silver and move it to the ship was 8 or so hours. And I only managed about a cart full of silver, at that. I needed 2 or 3 carts full of the stuff in order to actually max out my silver gear.

There are currently nearly 1400 mods on the Nexus, and others on Thuderstore.

I dunno about that I also died to bonemass the first time because I didn't know that poison pots are pretty much required if you dont wanna cheese him for a long time.

So yes. He is easy, with poison pots. To easy imho. You just stand there and spam some blunt attacks.

Imho that opens the discussion about overall boss difficulty. No boss has difficult mechanics. But eh.. I surely understand why. 5 people can't develop "good, deep and fun" bosses within a reasonable timeframe.

That 1GB of space you got for uninstalling it must have worth it.

Was really worried about that toxic he has but while having whole set of upgraded root armor and poison resist potion running, it was really not that deadly.

Yes, this is true and now have explored the mountains that were to be found on starting landmass. Found two eggs from there and more than enough silver but nothing revealing the next boss location..

Make a base in the mountains.
Well, roof, fire and portal are enough for me. Not going to set up sleeping area there since flying enemies tend to spawn regularly and cause havoc, and i am not feeling too certain with facing a pack of wolves.

Tame a 2 star wolf. Breed him. Get a pack of wolves.
Have read about using them for defending your base but would rather rebuild than go through the trouble of feeding them.

You still got lots to do.
Yes, and farming is not a thing that i look for. As a hunter-gatherer exploring is the thing for me ;-)
