This should mean its just been removed from the default crafting selections, as they are a seasonal item.
Seeds should still have maypoles by generation.

They removed the players ability to craft these things. Did not remove them from the game. They do this for seasonal items like the jack-o-turnips and xmax tree's/presents.

They do this to give the illusion of a patch or update when they add and remove seasonal things.

It was removed and then put back accidentally and now it is removed again for the summer season thing.

Now the jack o turnips are due but no idea when that will happen.

I don't really understand this decision anymore. Valheim is not an as-a-service game, so why have seasonal exclusive content? Maybe quit worrying about little "quirks" of company like this and release your next content patch?

The technical reason is seasonality.
