How to lock fps to 60

Im playing at 1080p and my monitor is 144hz and in game I can choose between 1080p 144hz and 1080p 60hz.
I wanted to lock the framerate at 60fps but when I choose 60hz in game resolution it changes back to 144hz. Any way to choose 60hz and stay that way?

Thanks for any help

You also have to have vsync enabled in-game for this to work, otherwise the game will not register your monitor's 60hz refresh rate.
not really. I said my monitor is 144hz so vsync would lock the game at 144fps. Locking the game fps through the graphics driver worked without problems

You can set the max FPS in the game settings.
