They don't seem to always point to the closest. On several seeds, I found closer Moder locations than what Vegsivrs showed me.

Thanks all, killed Bonemass in under 8 minutes with Hunter Bow and 89 Frost Arrows, chugged stam meads like a drunk. Surprisingly didn't even take the bow down to 50% durability.

PS: first use of Wishbone glitched on me, like it was detecting a tiny vein below bedrock or something. Also discovered stone golems die to a dozen obsidian arrows, lol.

Thanks, yeah found a Vegisr in a swamp to NE of spawn, pointed to one much closer, also in the general NE direction. Been hitting the Mountains getting ready, have like tons of obsidian, frost glands, 2x drake trophies, and a wolf trophy so getting geared up. No luck on finding silver with Stagbreaker.. have to wait for wishbone.

OK, thats a "Whao!" Looks like it's right at the edge of the Ashlands, and is likely to be a lot of Plains zones around it. Not somewhere you want to go with Swamp tier gear.

You might try focusing on thecrypts in the swamps North and East of where you found the vegisr that gave you that location. Every map has multiple boss summoning spots all around the world but the vegisrs will show you the one closest to you.

On my wolrd I had a Bonemass almost as far South as yours but when I was farming Iron in swamps North of Spawn I found a vegisr pointing at another Bonemass that was actually closer to spawn than the other.

If you are comfortable with a bit of cheating you might consider putting your worlds seed into the map generator at https://valheim-map.world/ to see if there is a Bonemass closer in a diferent directing. The map generator can be set to hide everything but boss spawns so it would limit the spoilers, but it would at least let you know if there was a closer Bonemass in a different directing.

vegisrs show the nearest to where you currently are... i you may have explored way further to one side but not stumbled across a vegisr on that side of the world...though Forsaken may be nearer centre/spawn point in another direction. but in my current world Moder is in my backyard yet Bonemass is in the outer lands in east and west.. so i defeated Moder first.. Bonemass is almost redundant.

There's probably alternative sites, but seems they will be close to the edge too possibly

OK ya there's 2 or 3 that are closer. There's a Moder on your starting landmass to the north and slightly east. There's a Bonemass very close to that, but across a channel on a different landmass to the east. You might even be able to walk there...it looks like a small landbridge might connect them but the way the continents are shaped it would be a long walk.

No worries, there's Plains around it though so tread carefully. Looks like there's a safe-ish access on the south side of his swamp...a small river leads up to it between some plains.
