Valheim has multiplayer but be warned, players can randomly lose progress with character resets, and wipes with no warning. Turning Steam Cloud save does not stop the problem. We run a private local dedicated server and have been plagued with character progress loss for months. We tried ever server character save mod out there and nothing would consistently work.

Finally we found a solution by running an external program on our server called Valheim Save Shield. It is made by the save people who make Valheim Server Warden which is the server manager we use. We just run both of them simultaneously on the server and it does the world and player character backups every 10 minutes. It has been working well for the last several days.

You can also run this on the client machines and it will keep backups of your characters.

idk man day after day i look at list, and NEVER more then 2 on ANY server, IE right now over 8,000 servers only 1 has 2 players, this game dying already ?.

Why would you think most players being small co-op groups of friends = death of game? It's not CoD.

What is everyone's obsession with player numbers? Especially for this game, where it doesn't matter a bit about player numbers or hype.

Yeah, multiplayer is fully implemented now.

You do not have to add a password... Run your own dedicated server, name your world noPW, NoPassword, or NoPWrequired. And your friends will find you.

Um. Setting up a server kind of *is* the multiplayer? Or you can just do a regular Steam invite for people to join your SP world. Really the whole thing's multiplayer, just sometimes there's only one person logged in.

There is also community servers you could join, but the game has a 10 man limit per server
