1.5 years later. Where is the rest of the game?
Mist area and Lava area were promised for the end of last year. I have not loaded this game since enjoying it for about a month and a half upon first release.
I have no interest in "a new wall colour".... When will the new zones be completed?

1.5 years? You are in the future huh?
Nothing was promised to you, or anyone.
Please stop making things up.

Is the development slow, yeah, I'll give you that, remember, their team of 5 only has one programmer, and sure, I wish things came faster, but it's no where near abandoned, they have been adding things from the roadmap, we got tarpits (on the roadmap) hearth and home, cult of the wolf (frost caves) and now, their attention is on the mistlands, so far we know what the outside of the new dungeon will be, that we are getting a new bow, and crossbow, and there are a couple new mobs
And we'll see, some are speculating we may gets some new boats, so parts of the ocean update may be coming with mistlands.
It is slow going, mistlands is a long way off still, but the game is NOT abandoned, and I honestly feel like progress has sped up a lot since release, terraforming optimization took a late chunk of their time, but now that that's done, stuff is moving

This game is abandonware and the progress has been laughable.
26 updates in 2021, with one major patch in September. 2 updates in 2022 so far with Frost Caves and a bunch of other stuff. Version history: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Version_History
Also, their Discord is super active: https://discord.com/invite/valheim - if they are abandoned, clearly, they wouldn't even be on Discord right? Come, educate us 'fanboys' what we're not seeing, that you're clearly seeing.
With that said, how did they make their money and ran? It has been 13 months since Early Access. Clearly, you're an expert in software development. So tell us, how long does a game like Valheim take to create? 6 months? 12 months? How long did your development studio take to create your last project? Just curious.
---
DEVELOPMENTAL TIMES AS REFERENCE POINTS
- Star Wars Squadrons: about 3 years
- Sims 2: about 4 years
- Kenshi: 12 years total, 5 years in Early Access
- Rimworld: 5 years in Early Access
- Minecraft Dungeons: about 5 years
- Fallout 3: about 4 years with Bethesda, +2 years with Interplay
- Don't Starve: about 3 years
- Valheim: Early Access for 13 months so far

The rest of the game is on a remote uninhabited island in the Weddell Sea. Head over there and bring it back. Take your time.

They promised a roadmap that was small and slow, and failed to deliver. They made their money and ran. Ive been saying this for ages but fanbois would scream and cry and say Im greedy.
This is the problem with early access success. They already made all their sales, they have 0 incentives to finish the game.
The best early access games sell enough to keep going, without becoming a hit.

No promises were made. If you can show a legitimate news article, etc from the developers where they use the word promise, I'll eat a dog turd.
Why don't you guys go back to WoW or Fortnite. Obviously you have no concept of what an EA entails, nor the patience or maturity to wait for it.

The roadmap that the devs promised last year was too ambitious according to them. They recently did the hearth & home update as well as the “Cult of the Wolf” (aka Frost Caves) update.
They are currently working on the Mistlands update with many new leaks you can look up.

Basic math doesn't seem to be your strong point. ;) It has been a bit over 13 months. 1.5 years would denote 18 months.
As for content, it made sense IronGate scaled back adding new major stuff, until major game bugs are fixed first, as well as improving overall code structure. So they are working on Mistlands biome, as well as some in-between content. More players mean more opportunity to find bugs. IronGate didn't expect millions to be sold. Which meant millions of players testing the game finding bugs.
An experience-based guess would mean it should take about 2 to 3 ish more years for version 1.0.
Also, if you read the patch news' stories, you would have found out the 28 updates they released since Early Access release wasn't about 'a new wall colour'.

Where is everyone getting these numbers from? "2+ years" "1.5 years"
Valheim came out last year last month, that is 1 year and 1 month which is equal to 13 whole months.

There was also this thing called covid that happened last year. Maybe you heard of it?
I don't know of a single organization that didn't have all their projects and timelines stalled out by covid. My brother just returned to their actual physical offices a month ago, along with 122 other people. A month later, the last of the 122 people has come down with covid. Their office is empty again. Hard to run a business when stuff like that is happening.

Roadmaps are plans and hopes... they are not "promises".
No one "promised" anything!
