Food Cooking on a Fire As Decor?
Awhile back, not too far back mind you, I saw a video where someone had a brilliant idea and some "trick", to have Food Cooking on a fire as Decor! It was something about placing the fire, cooking the food, removing the fire and replacing it? And Woohoo! The fire was burning, the food was NOT, and you could actually leave it there for decoration! I'm not too sure who that brilliant person was, (they do alot of videos on decorating and I watch them religiously...but cannot find it again)...but I've looked at every cooking video (you have any idea how many there are now? lol), and haven't found that neat little trick(. Can someone please tell me how to do it? I have a tremendous amount of Coal atm =0P

Iron cooking station. 2 campfire. Hang meat. Looks cooked? Remove 1 fire.

Woohoo! /clap/dance/cheer Thank you , everyone for the help! I love the trick as well, where if you have a workbench close by, dropped items do not disappear. I always bury one in the floor.

It's ok, you'll use the coal when you get your smelters going. ;)
I believe you can make a stove top sort of deal with iron cage items and then you can place a holder that you can put food onto. Might have a play with it myself and see.

I remember that video, I think it was just removing the fire. Maybe when you place a fire again, meat is going on in the cooking process.

Here's one way:
Put a cooking rack right at the edge of the fireplace. Try to put meat on it.
If you can add meat, then it is too close: demolish it (you reclaim the meat as well as the wood, so you aren't wasting resources trying)
If you cannot add meat, but it looks close enough visually, that is what we are after.
Put a new temporary fire under it, add meat, and remove the fire. (maybe wait till the meat looks cooked?)
Result: meat on a rack, "close" to the fire, but not actually cooking
