No loot from Yagluth
Killed Yaglutg, but only a trophy fell from him. Things that are needed for a trip to the Mystlands have not fallen. The world was generated long before the update, however, I only explored a small part and in theory all the content of the update should be available in the unexplored part. Should I try again or is it better to generate a new world and move there? I would not want to - I have to kill all the bosses again. Although it will be easier in top gear, this time will be boring.

If you can't dig under the alter due to water or whatever, you can also use a hoe and raise the ground above the alter.

Problem solved. The reason was that the "Torn spirits" (x3) fell UNDER the textures of the altar. I noticed a small spark rising from inside the altar, picked up a pickaxe and began to dig under the altar. At some point, the loot fell fell from above.

We had this 2 times.
This is exactly what happened to you.
Fortunately for you, your altar wasn't near sea level like ours. No chance of getting that out. The problem is well known and has been addressed several times way before Mistlands, but apparently they are more busy fixing things that aren't broken.
But what am I talking about, no one is interested anyway.

there is a bit of the lost loot thing going on lately.
Ive lost the new extracted crafting material under the indestructible nearby object and digging a pit under it let me recover them, but there are times when things are trapped beyond all reach.
Tearing stuff up in your home, you also get stuff popping under the floor or above the ceiling, its there but you have to look for it sometimes.

You may want to contact the Game Developers to see if there is a solution. The material that Yagluth drops is needed in the Mistlands to help you collect materials so you can explore the Mistlands and for at least one new weapon (Mistwalker) that I noticed.
Without it, it is conceivably possible to do the Mistlands, but it would be extremely difficult.
The run I am on now is from a world I started in early fall, then stopped playing before killing Yagluth. When Mistlands was fully released, I resumed playing it, killed Yagluth, and got the new materials. So it is possible to get the materials from a pre-Mistlands release generated-world.
I would contact the devs for advice. There may be a way they can restore the items or a previous save.
Best of luck.

You could alternatively use dev commands and just spawn in the item you were supposed to get. It takes like a minute.
you need to enable console in steam valheim properties
then press F5 in game
type "devcommands"
then type "debugmode"
Then type:
spawn (item name) (quantity xx) (Item level xx)
Should look like this
Spawn torn spirit 03 00
Although, if this was messed up there is a good chance other stuff is too. A new world might be better.

Same for me.
So I have a glitch. :(

Will the character be labeled "cheater" or something after that?
