game has hardly any optimization (yet) + its unity , i dont even know if it does proper multi threaded /multi core operations, also it handles light sources awfully as well as struggling with the increasing clutter being persistent in your world the longer you play, (Clutter: objects placed, terrain being deformed and entities created in the item database). That said i think your VRAM is atrociously low.

Definitely needs optimizing fast, my 3080 is only getting 20-30fps at only 1440p. GPU never gets above 40% usage.....

something is wrong here. My 3070 does 120-165 FPS 1440p with everything maxed. use DDU to uninstall your drivers and install them again fresh.

I can get 50-60 FPS with everything low on an 11 year old GPU with 1GB VRAM ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This gave me an extra 8-15 fps @1440p max settings at a location (base) where i would drop down to 40-45 fps on a 1080 Strix 8gb/8700k 4.7 ghz

Maybe this game just hates PASCAL gpus.

Try going to your game in the steam library, right click and select properties. Under launch options put this -window-mode exclusive -screen-fullscreen and force the game into full screen whenever you launch it. The full screen built into the game is actually a borderless window, I've seen considerable fps increase doing this.

As has been mentioned, use either Adaptive or Fast Vsync, and force your game to use fullscreen exclusive. Also the tweak to config.boot file floating around these forums may also help some.

So it seems some are getting a nice fps while others of us aren't.
I guess it also depends on how much people have built base wise.. Like I've built a decent size base (You'll see it on upcoming videos/streams on my YT channel)

But yeah, it's weird how it's only using 10-20% of my GPU and 1.5 / 8gb ram.
Something isn't utilising it at all, I'll try updating my GPU drivers as well.

I'll also try all the tips and tricks above thanks.

I'm also in the process of moving over to my other (newly built) PC.. Although it'll still be the same GPU with better everything else so probably wont make a difference.
Current specs; i7-3770k, 16gb ddr3 ram, Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2060S 8GB standard 7200rpm drive. + all the trimmings.
New rig is i9-10850k, 64gb ddr4 ram, M.2 SSD hdd, and all the trimmings.

It's still playable, just frustrating at times when fps drops to 10-20fps.
Luckily it's mostly around my base so not when fighting.

I'll try the tips people have posted above anyway thank you, and see if I can push some more frames so I can get cracking with YouTube content on the game.
