Mistlands is a failure?

Mistlands is boring. This addon is a failure. The point is you cant see anighint even with a wisp. You cant see biome. This is the most interesting part of the game - to discover, to build, to gain pleasure looking at a landscape. But here all you see is 5 meters away from you. And it is all gone when you move so the only point to remember is to place markers. This is so stupid. Remember iced mountains when you see a cave far away and make your way to it. When stand at the edge of the rock and see the path you ve made. And what mistlands? Devs left us within 5 meters destance view range. Wonderfull. Stupid. I've already seen evrth in this new biome and have no pleasure returning there to greed, discover etc. Regardless the fact that mistlands biome is all about rocks you cant even walk on. Almost no terrain, no flat surfaces, no interest of moving through it.

Deleting this game again untill the next update. Or untill they make wisp to fade mist away forever like a fog of war effect. At least. Or adding some life to the game like friendly npc, quests, villagers, enemy camps spawning randomly. There is literally nothing to do in Valheim instead of building. But it also get you bored at some point.

you can plant and hide torches to clear mist from an area you want to enjoy.
its aggravating, but you can do it.

I actually enjoy the Mistlands, yeh the terrain is tough, but so what it gives you good challenge, and there is some awesome views you get in the Mistlands! Just at the higher altitudes where its clear from the mist and the Seekers are simple! Just train better in fighting them!

The mist alone is not the problem why several valheim-lover quit with 1000 hours of playtime.

Personally I liked the mist idea and the high difficult level (before the nerf) the most.

Mistlands simply works completely differently at a fundamental level than the other biomes, and the developers take the eat or die approach.

It is the most beautiful and worst biome at the same time so far.

The developers have taken a new direction since early access in which they want to take their game. Mistlands is just another proof of that. And that's okay, but as a result me and my friends with about 500 - 1,000 hours of playtime +/- have stopped playing now.

I also have stopped actively talking about the exact reasons here, because the majority is not interested anyway.

I am literally heartbroken because I loved valheim so much. I will wait until the next update or maybe until the game is finished and then take one last look.

Failure to please you does not mean a game feature is a failure.

mistlands is great. and this comes from someone who doesnt have a whisplight yet.
stop talking nonsense. the mist isnt everywhere in the biome. look for open spaces. they exist in abundance.

you can walk on all of these rocks. just need to jump a bit more than normal. once you get feather cape the useful of these high rocks becomes apparent.

What is it, a Mario game? You look like a player that overexcited with a new addon just for a fact this is NEW OMG. "a bit more" meaning 100x times more? Ok man, you love it, you play it.

OP has a point. If after 700 hours I stopped playing the game and some I know have given up too, then that says it all. One of the things that has always bothered me is not being able to see. Sail somewhere new, fog, climb a new mountain, blizzard and a new plains fog all day. So, to introduce a biome where you can't see, then it's an end of the game for me.

I have to agree. I've enjoyed all the other biomes in the game (even the grindy bronze age part), but I'n finding little joy in Mistalnds. I'm visually impaired and the combination of fog and excess jumping is just too much. Its tedious in a way that is less fun than the bronze age and I'm having difficulty gathering the things I need to succeed in mistlands mainly due to the fog. Thus far in game I have resisted the urge to use console commands to spawn items in or mods to make things less tedious but if I want to continue in Mistlands I may have no choice. If my vision were good it would be a different story but the game doesn't have any accessibility options for the visually or hearing impaired players.

Mistlands is a failure?

Yes, but for me, the mist is the last issue, I don't like the terrain and unbalanced enemies.

its the worst biome sofar and worst bossfight sofar.
but that means it can only get better
see you next year or so for next biome.

edit: i have to add that its a joke that it can only get better, my expectations are so low for the last 2 years i bet on an even worse biome coming.
