Brightness increased with new patch?

Maybe just my system, I'm sure lots of different factors for 'brightness', including personal gamma settings, video cards, drivers, etc.

But with no changes to personal settings before/after update, saw noticeable difference in brightness levels after today's patch. Had torches around base to be reasonably lit at night (not bright, just not super dark at night), but not too washed out bright during daytime.

With update, night radiance is still fine but in daytime those same light sources are way too bright.

Also with no crafted light sources and just out adventuring in the meadows or non-gloomy places like swamp, daytime light seems way brighter too.

Trying to find a brightness setting to readjust.

i made my profile public now, but i just got 2 screenshots from 1-2 days ago right now, you can add me and i send more later when i got time to play... why would i lie? xD i am playing for nearly 500hrs and really love this game, also we pointed this problem out in a well mannered way, what exactly makes you think everyone with a game-bug needs to be a game-hating liar? xD ...
btw, this only occures on the Ocean, in the Mountains and in Plains. i compared it with the other players on my server and only 1 other out of 8 ppl got the same problems, with a totally different pc setup. also as said these problems didnt happen before, sometimes it was hard to see in the mountains or with mist on the ocean, but now there are situations which are unplayable, so i got to wait everytime for the weathersurroundings to change...

hmmm, checked your screenshots, and it doesn't look weird for me. For me the mist is and was the same as on your screenshots before and after the update. It doesn't look too bright

as said, i can add some more later but now i am working... it doesnt look to bright? xD are you high sir? i cant see anything but the ocean or floor whenever this occures, not even 2m ... as said, i play for 500hrs and this never happened a single time, so whatever you think doesnt matter in my case. i guess you also dont have a clue what we could do to change this, but you like to discuss and claim that people lie about their experience?! good to have you...
edit: and also it doesnt seem like supposed if 9 people with same settings doesnt have the same problem, but only 2 of them. and i shared my screen via discord with other players, they also said this definitely isnt normal and wasnt like this before... in mountains or ocean with mist it was always a bit difficult, but now also in plains without there beeing a lot of mist, its just white and you will not see any conutures through it.

Something's definitely changed. My workshop is much brighter, and the smoke just makes it go crazy. It's not exactly bad, but it's a little much. I think it's something with bloom.

Well, there is no game with Bloom working correctly right now in the game industry.

Basicly what Bloom does is it removes part of graphic from the screen, so it eats resources in form of electric energy, and also removes graphic pleasure from the screen. Its better to turn it off.

And its better for the eyes too.

even if, sth isnt like before the update, i played around 10hrs yesterday and we were mostly on boat. after restarting for the patch, it wasnt playable for me. for my mates nothing changed... i have around 400hrs, i am 99% sure sth changed just yesterday, if not the brightness, sth else causing a problem now. (drivers and updates are all up to date, no other game with that problem)

I made 2 threads because the topics, while somewhat related, are separate subjects.

This thread is about whether update did (or did not) change brightness in any way.

Other thread is if gamma/bright control exist and made no mention of brightness because ppl use gamma/color sliders to make things darker as well as brighter, based on their subjective desire.

e.g. kinda like skyrim where in-game gamma is used to make dungeons bit brighter, while outside in daytime can slide it down to make bit darker.
