How to start playing?
Heya guys,
I'm kinda a noob at these types of games - I had a friend spend like 20 hours with me in Minecraft until I could finally do stuff myself lol.
I tried this game for a few minutes, just found a big open world and had no clue where to start so I gave up lol.
Are there any good resources out there for a new player?

You have one chance to play it once, looking up the answers will take it away from you. Your choice though of course.
Basics, gather resources, upgrade your gear, eat food, explore.
Was my first survival game as well, and enjoyed learning how it works.

Pick up / Craft / Build everything at least once (you'll see why), if possible watch enemies closely before attacking, and don't be ashamed to run away and try again later.

I kind of envy your playing for the first time. This is a game of discovery and challenges that may seem overwhelming at first until you figure them out. So don't just watch a lot of YouTube videos of others playing. It'll spoil a lot of the fun.
And I second this thought. Try not to get too frustrated. All of us have had those "OMG! How do I get the hell out of this!?" moments.
Oh, two things to keep in mind
1. Keep your bees happy
2. Ducks have toes
Don't worry, one day you'll understand.

Jealous I can't play it for the first time again, too. Didn't move from my chair for 14 hours. LOL Try not to look everything up. The game gives you hints along the way as you gather more resources. :)

A lot of the fun is the discovery. The bird will tell you a lot.
Basically if you know that tab opens a menu that lets you craft some very basic primary tools, and that "e" picks stuff up, you should be able to figure a lot out on your own.

It'll spoil a lot of the fun.I'm looking forward to it :D I usually don't like being overwhelmed by areas or mechanics, so I may need to look a bit more up than your standard player, but I'll try to minimize how much I look up!
