Stop updating the game.

You're breaking all of my mods. Stop updating the game unless you have a substantial update with actual content that people care about.

You're literally breaking all of my amazing mods that I have installed to make this game worth playing, and every little update you people release just breaks everything.

Stop updating the game. (Unless it's an ACTUAL update)

Thank you.

By "supported," do you mean post here and someone will assist you in an official capacity?
Or do you mean "Post on the bug tracker and the devs will get to it?"
Because neither one seems to be the case for quite a lot of issues. I probably don't understand what most people are calling "support," I guess, but it doesn't really seem like one is "supported" more than the other, in my eyes.

It means devs aren't going to take note of the state of mods and work to make their game compatible with said mods, but rather it's up to the mod creators to make their mods compatible with the game. Whereas if you submit a bug request, it will eventually get addressed by the devs.

just roll it back and stay "offline" when you launch the game.

That is what I am doing and I do not plan on updating until Mistlands finally gets here. All these little updates that they totally arent pushing on purpose to break everyones mods are just getting ignored by me.

They are trying to get cross platform sorted out so they can milk a whole new bunch of suckers.

Imagine waking up one day and thinking you have any right to tell a dev team how to update their own product. What a joke. :steammocking:

I have to support this request.

The last few updates have completely FUBAR'd for a number of players, myself iuncluded even when I'm not using any mods.

It really makes the IG dev team look like a bunch of armatures who barely passed an intro to BASIC programming in summer school.

This latest flury of updates and mico hotfix patchs strongly indicates that IG is reacting in panic mode to the recent issues. If The devs at IG want to be taken seriously as game developers they need to learn to take the time to actually test their updates, Using both in house testers and the Beta branch testers, and fix any issues that come up in the update before pushing it to the general branch.

If IG had done that for the first patch they would not be catching as much crap from players and these forumns would not have multiple threads full of complaints about updates breaking things.

Copy the Valheim folder somewhere else. Launch that valheim exe. You can stick with your mods forever regardless of patches.

I agree 100%. For me, the only way this game is playable is with mods since the modders have made Valheim interesting, fun and less of a time suck and irritation. Valheim unmodded has low stamina, limited building options, limited plants and animals, lousy storage sizes, etc.).

Player, at least those like me, play this game for the building component seeking a fabulous place to relax after the day's stress. The modders provide options for creativity while also giving players options for adjusting the stamina, portal limitations and giving greater storage capacity. Modders give the game life by offering those amazing features plus new building materials and decorative items as well, which, thanks to the recurring updates, are broken.

Valheim Devs may be working very hard on different projects, but they are forgetting that people, and I would surmise, mainly solo players or co-op players, are their main player base. The delays with Mistlands (from their main roadmap) and the focus on crossplay makes me believe they are more interested in making more sales than finishing the game they already promised to those who have already purchased it.

Their continuing focus on fixing non-relevant stuff ( boss or troll hair, maypoles and dandelion headpiece) is perhaps a sign that they have no intention of creating new content/biomes, and have chosen to seek out new players and $$ through this new cross-play stuff. That is, of course, their choice. I would prefer they just say the game is finished and stop with the "oh look, we made a new wooden thingy with a head on it" and call that new content. It's not.

The game is lovely however, for many of us, modders make it playable. Please stop with the frivolous update that break stuff.all.the.time.

Thanks for letting me share my feelings. I'm off to play Grounded now.

These are the issues you agreed to deal with by installing mods during a beta. You are lucky they are not patching daily.

While you have a valid point about modding during a Beta the last few updates have also been breaking the vanilla game for some players. Both Client and Servers.

You can't do that as easily on a LInux system. Valheim has to have Steam running to enable some of the Linux versions Internet services. Just running the executable directly causes the game to hang. before it gets to the main menu.

Thank you.

Mods are 100% unsupported. Fixing bugs is 100% supported. If the mods wrote around these bugs they will need to be updated.

Microsoft does this all the time in their OS. In fact they had a bug in their own webserver that was present for 4 years. We had comments in our code "Workaround for IIS bug that may never get fixed." They finally patched it, hidden inside an update and it broke the software the company I worked for sold. So we had to unpatch the patch.

Authors will update their mods. While you wait play O2.

Agreed! I don't play with mods, but the last update completely screwed the game's connectivity! I am always getting disconnected from a dedicated server at random times. I load in with no terrain half the time, and if I do get loaded in, I am just counting down the minutes, maybe a hour, until I get disconnected. I will literally be running, with no lag, with no warning of a disconnect symbol in the upper left of my screen, and I will dc.
