They went on vacation?!?!

So something you learn early in your career if your an IT administrator - patches sometimes break things right? Even the best intention patch can wreak havoc. So one thing you certainly never do is release a patch....then go on vacation!

I get that they deserve a break. Holy crap they own the company. I'm sure they've been working hard. But you never...and i mean NEVER release a patch and then go on vacation!

If that kind of thing happened and they were employees, any self-respecting company would fire them while they were gone.

Well, I don't know about that. Some companies value their human resources. Especially any "self-respecting" company. One guy (coder) worked on this game for 3 years. The team grew into 5 and they released a smash hit and made millions of dollars ( i'm guessing after Steam , and coffee stain, and the government took their cut it wasn't as much as most people think )

But yes likely still a decent amount of money. And guess what? Now it's summer time.

You'r GD right they are going to take a vacation. A well earned vacation at that. The game and it's development will still be here when they get back.

Yeah , it feels good to be the boss.

With last patch they kinda messed up with AI tweaks but it's bearable. Maybe even good, since players now have to protect their bases properly. At least my own new base is going to be a freaking fortress. What doesn't kill you make you stronger after all.

What did the patch break in your game?

We’ve noticed no issues on our MP dedi server.

I haven't had anything break with the recent patch minus minor mob madness which is completely manageable.

On the subject of them going on vacation i think Ryzilyn is right.
There is a lot more to this than just "dropped a patch and flew the coop"
Quite frankly i think its good and i highly doubt its going to be some epic break, especially given that they've likely been working this entire time in lockdown too where others have been at home.

Honestly I just jumped into a new map so I could trench out the starting shrine just outside it's anti-build perimeter and make a plateau base out of it like I saw on reddit or discord or somewhere. So I started building benches in a circle as close as i could build, mobs attacking me periodically, nothing crazy. Greyling walks PAST the bench I just put down to attack ME.

I was honestly surprised with all the complaints I have been reading online.

I haven't experienced anything adverse ... yet. (this includes my established maps/bases)

After What I have been reading though I expected the inhabitants of Valheim to jump on me and anything I built like a pack of rabid piranhas.

just to put into perspective - any grounded human being/small family could make 1mill last an entire lifetime comfortably

zero problems here as well, I do not use Mods or Console commands, I have been attacked by Trolls a few times at my base if anything they are broke was standing on my roof shooting arrows at 4 of them and only 1 attacked my spikes then died on it the other 2 just left and I had to chase the last one to just kill him.

Stake Walls and spikes do you use them ?

Well as a delivery manager I have to add here:
When you approve vacation of your employees in a situation like this, you should be the one who gets fired, not the Dev-Team ;)

But going on vaca after a patch seems weird :)

Yeah I could totally agree with you if the game was Officially released and they put out a patch then left us hanging for a week while they were on vacation. For me the game is in Early Access, so yeah they really don't have to have someone watching the "Store" 24/7.
