Knowing I'm better than most people at this game.

It's a small win but I'll take it.

Soloing Yagluth using a bow.

The best moment is that point of culmination, standing before a boss, knowing they are helpless against you because you've put in all the work and made all the preparations.

We were boating home a full ship of copper ore on a dark stormy night, the wind at our back full speed through fog. Out of nowhere we are fully not moving on top of a large boulder in a black forest. Then out of nowhere a red-eyed troll swings a log down, killing the entire crew and destroying the boat on some random island nowhere near our base.

when lighting hit me

One of the first maps I played was the so called "Boss Run Map". I choose it because of the few islands close to the spawn point, making it easy to build a nice base close to where I would hang the trophys (though I didn't know how to do that at the time).

Disadvantage of that map, is that it got a patch of Black Forest close to the spawn and - of course - that patch had a troll cave and a troll outside of the cave.

I had been able to avoid the troll for quite some time, untill I defeated Eikthyr and was able to upgrade my gear a bit more. However, I couldn't find it at all, so I decided to take a go at the one in the cave instead.
At time I was still using a Crude Bow, lvl 2 and lvl 3 leather armor. So when that troll approached me and hit me, I was shocked to see how much health I lost. I decided to move outside, heal up, switch to sneaking again and use "hit and run" tactics to kill it.

Imagine my surprise when the troll I knew was outside somewhere, was close to the cave, minding his (or her) own business. I kinda felt like being trapped between a hard place and a harder place. So I did the only thing I thought I could do, went into sneaking mode, waited for my health bar to be filled to the max, snuk inside the cave, fired a few fire arrows in the Troll there, ran out, went into sneaking mode, shot a few fire arrows in the troll wandering outside, went back into sneaking, entered the cave and repeated the whole thing.

With two trolls it didn't take long before I ran out of fire arrows, so the game switched to flint head arrows. Took me a bunch of those as well, before I had the one in the cave killed and a whole lot more before the troll outside was dead as well. Main reason for that it got company of an army of greydwarves, trying to become walking needle pillows.

By the time I had everything killed, I was almost out of arrows, but the loot I got out of both fights made my day. Two troll trophys, 10 troll hide, which was enough for both the tunic and the pants, a large amount of coins, rubies, amber plus loads of wood, stone and resin to do quite some building.

I've killed the troll outside that cave quite a few times, enough to upgrade my troll armor to its highest tier. Yet, that first fight is something I won't forget.

seriously? i still remember my first storm and the fear i felt that i may be struck.

also one of my fondest memories: my first night hiding in a hut from monsters i couldn't see, i got poisoned. no idea what was going on! i settled down in that little valley and made that hut my home. after like a week of avoiding that side of the hut because i couldn't figure out why i kept losing health there, i finally noticed the bee hive!

Seeing a baby lox born after landing ashore with 2 lox I was transporting via boat during a storm. When the sun came out it was like seriously the coolest moment I've had,

The struggle boating with the lox, them jumping ship mid ocean, me struggling to get them ashore. All this while a storm is going on and then pop a baby lox. this was before I even knew baby lox could be born, I think it was just added so the feeling of extreme surprise and excitement added on top of all that stress and crazy happenings all washed over me and I stood there in amazement and much glory. As the storm subsided and the sun basked us taking away all the worries the night brought, now with a new life brought in to this world so I can slaughter and eat it later. It was so beautiful 😭

The moment when I face a new content...
It's been so long since this happened for the last time that I don't even remember this feeling actualy.

I agree with this. My first venture out to get a serpent was and remains one of the coolest things I've ever done in a videogame.

In a similar instance, I was sailing and encountered the Serpent, so I raced to the nearest Island, it was uncharted at this point, as I approached, I was in a Black Forest Biome, and as I got upto the shore, there was a Troll standing on the beach, I thought to myself, great.... not only was I going to lose my Karve to the Serpent, but I was going to have to fend off the troll before I could even try salvage my boat. However the Troll locked eyes on the Serpent and a death match incurred.... the Troll won. Well until I killed it afterwards. They ignored my boat.

Now I see Trolls as a friend than something to kill. In my latest playthrough, while my gear is too primitive to take on the big guys, I have started arranging Abomination v Troll Death Matches. The Abomination is more powerful than the Troll, so I tend to help the Troll out with some fire arrows. Then... I finish off the weakened Troll

Probably my first solo Serpent kill, I lured it to the shore, then harpooned it once I was close to save stamina, then I simply dragged it to shore so my tame wolves could rip it apart, then collected the loot afterwards. Made my first Serpent Scale Shield not long after that.

Another cool moment was when i was showing off in front of my friends with my freshly crafted stagbreaker and hit a seagull which was in low flight, trying to land nearby.

Hah.. those are good!
Recently I was sailing to explore a new island. It was night and started to storm. During the storm I sailed into an area with no less than FIVE leviathans in close proximity. They are still there awaiting a time I need more Chitin. That was pretty cool.
The first time you encounter a 2-star Troll, or worse, a 2-star Fuling Berserker get the adrenaline pumping too. I've played so long I'm sure there are many cool moments that have blurred over time. Getting creatures to fight each other is definitely fun though. I like to lure Lox and Fulings over to new Tarpits and have them fight it out with the Growths.

I killed my first deer when a tree fell on it. Cool I thought. My first death happened when a tree fell on me…….hold on a sec here……

I was deep in some water building a dock, and the ground started shaking. In a panic, I slowly swam to the shore. By the time I got to the shore it was too late. What looked like running in slow motion, I tried to get back on the shore, but a troll killed me in one hit.

When my and my friends saves where essentially deleted, that was cool.
