I've had this happen more times than I am happy with. I can always click 2 and 5 and get my shied and mace up. It seems like I have problems when I want to switch to bow or back. It always take at least one more click than you think it will. You have to wait , then deliberately click the weapon you want. It does suck because often times i end up bare knuckle fighting a wolf or a furling.

Not quite the same as John. Never blocked with a mace instead of a shield. I have punched a draughr elite with my bare fist, though. I didn't live to tell the tale.

There does seem to be some delay in equipping stuff, especially if you equip a weapon and shield quickly. Cost me a few deaths thinking you're gonna parry with a shield and you only have a mace out.

agreed, now i just equip weapon/shield then Hide/Show weapon (hotkey'd-z) haven't had an issue since.
