OK When are they going to fix the game?
Ever since that last patch (fix) things have been so messed up I'm about to quit playing.
Can't get mods to work, moved characters from the old archive system that was working fine only to have most of their gear vanish, now I come back to where I had left a chest full of hard earned ore, especially having to do everything in vanilla, only to find chest and ore gone... I guess the folks from Irongate have lost interest in the folk who play the game.

Mods are why things are broken, don't blame the game.

Rule #1: If you run mods, you can't blame the developer for "bugs" unless you can prove that the mods are not causing / did not cause the "bugs".
Rule #2: Don't trust steam cloud save. That's just something you learn over time, and is not isolated to Valheim, but Irongate even felt the need to add this to their patch notes: "However, for this patch we do advise people to make backups of your saves, just in case."

It is up to the mod creators to fix their mods when the game updates, which is something they do for free on their own time, if they're even still actively working on it. Then it is up to you to check for mod updates and update accordingly. If it still doesn't work, then it is up to you to determine which mod is causing the problem and get rid of it.
None of that has anything to do with the devs.

If you are using mods, chances are you are using a Unity loading engine like BepinEx. Insure that your Unity loader and Valheim are in sync.

If op is moving files around without knowing what they are doing, they are the cause of the bugs, and if they're blaming an EA game for mods breaking without bothering to check whether mods are supported it might be the operator's software that needs bug fixing.

sounds like most of your issues are mods related, which arent supported, and the lost ore might be lost connection/desync or world not saving
