As you said. Black metal axe against petrified bones. Otherwise getting Iron in that area, bring over Stone cutter, and break down Dvergr structures/staircases to dungeons.

I'm not getting anything from the bones I've found though. I have a level 4 blackmetal pickaxe from all the craptons of goblins I've been killing, but I'm not even seeing any damage numbers when I give it a whack. I found huge armor earlier and I managed to break them apart and get scrap iron out of it.

Nothing happens when I hit them- no damage numbers, no "too hard", not even a swarm of bugs like everyone else is complaining about.

oh no. this is the wrong Mistlands. This was the old style. You will need to find another spot and/or start a new server.

This is why the devs said to go to a mistlands you never explored or start a new world. The old mistlands terrain does not get regenerated.

Somehow felt it might be the case, I stumbled upon the mistlands a while back while searching for a mountain (before the frost caves were added) but got spooked and turned back as soon as the title card came up, not knowing it wasn't even completed yet. As such, a small patch of the biome is in the old style with the trees and the cobwebs.
Funny enough, I'm finding the most gjalls and seekers in that spot, and it's the only place I've found so far with the floating skulls.

I just upgraded my black metal pickaxe using 45 black metal and 3 ydrassel (or what ever) roots. Going back to see if that will break them.

I have a tier 4 blackmetal pick. It does nothing to those.
