HOW IS THIS STILL THE SAME GAME!!!!
I don't really understand how a game like this hasn't added a bucket load of content. Instead they have removed content. The mist lands are more empty than they use to be. They have had a massive player base. It feels like they just packed up and left after making their money. Anyone else think this is a bit of a joke?

Try reading what the developers have shared with us. You are so incredibly wrong it's not even funny. Mistlands are empty for a reason.

It's pretty much the same game other than a few new structures.
If you want to play a better Valheim add some mods or multiple.
Mod manager:
r2modman [valheim.thunderstore.io]
This is pretty good mod pack.
Adds new armor / monsters etc
DoOrDieSoloExperience [valheim.thunderstore.io]

I def think you are totally incorrect in the game going backwards, I will admit though I am slightly concerned that the game is falling into the same trap several other games have done where, it is taking them a long time to get content out... they DO really need to ramp up the speed or they are going to loss their play base. I will say of the three massive Valheim discords I am in.. they are all dying.. they have gone quite and there's just not content for people to make. Are they going backwards and is this a different game? No. Do they need to speed up content drops, that I will say yes to.

They prioritized getting the first slice of content stable when the Early Access blew up beyond anyone's expectations. Those are under-the-hood updates with not a lot of shiny new content, but I prefer having a solid base version to play while I wait for the rest of the game.
And btw, this is not a live service game. Technically, it doesn't matter whether the first player base moves on to something else. A sale is a sale. That being said, they hired a bunch of new people and seem very committed to finish this, in my opinion, already amazing game.

IDK why people keep saying this. Valheim is not one of those types of games that depends on hype to keep player numbers up.

Because these sort of players think they know 'things', but they don't. It's quite odd really. Like these people have been wearing obnoxiously rose-tinted glasses for the entirety of Steam Early Access coinciding non-MMO type of games, under the notion that because there isn't a lot of chatter in the official Discord channels, then "THE GAME MUST BE DYING HERP DERP!"
[sigh]
From an outsider's point of view, our development company must be super dead, because we only talk to the client once a week, sometimes, once every 2-3 weeks. Yeah, my team members would disagree, since we clock about 10-12 hour days, 4-5 days a week on the project. Alas, people that think they know 'things' always make assumptions about what is dead, what is dying, and how things should be done...
[sigh]
As for the OP: like Skrei said, try reading the news for once. It clearly states why the Mistland biome is empty.

No iudea what you on about, just got the game and after 20 hours i'm not even scratching the surface. The have a regualr update dev blog and clearlly are working on large swathes of content. Stop being entitled, these devs have produced a very polished early access title. It's much better to wait longer and ahve each update work and intergrate well.
