As Complaintdesk said, you may need several stack of bones if you plan to craft and upgrade several (rescue) sets of wooden club, troll armour, stagbreaker, and bone shield. Of course, if you rush for higher tier equipment, you don't have to.

I use spawners for training at parrying, and usually retreat (and respectfully close the door) after the club or mace broke or I have a full stack of bones, whichever comes first. I still have difficulties to face a two star skeleton, and need training anyway.

Yeah, after exploring a bit trying to find another burial chambers or copper deposit, I found one where i got 5 surtling cores. I'll explore a little bit and see if i got more of them.

In the meantime, i'll close the discussion here, might gonna open another discussion where i wanted to do multiplayer...

Additionally, without spoiling too much; you will find enemies that drop surtling cores.

I have seen as many as six coming out of burial crypts.

I had a neat land area with a river. One side was meadow, the other BF. So I walked down the meadow side in relative safety scouting the BF side. My first two crypts yielded 3 cores. However, I found 3 shipwrecks thst got me 125 fine wood. RNG giveth and taketh away…..

Bone fragments are used in making some leather & trollhide armour pieces, and necessary for upgrades to the same. They are also used in the upgrading of some weapons like Stagbreaker. Oh and the Bone Tower Shield.

I got 13 from one burial chamber, that was a very nice surprise for the first time underground on a new world

different per dungeon.
Some have a lot, some have none....
It is random.

It's totally RNG. Every map is RNG and the contents of each dungeon is RNG.

You might get 0 or you might get 4+ in one dungeon.

Just keep delving.
