Plains biome unfinished?
Just a thought i had the other day. Dev's you have added light armor sets for most the biomes except the plains.... wonders if they are going to add it soon or at all. Be interesting to see what the dev's come up with. Lox armor set? or tar armor set?

Mistlands I can understand, but how do you die easily in plains if you're well equipped?
With a decent run skill and rested buff, I don't know of anything that I can't outrun in heavy armor, except for wolves and deathsquitos.
Exactly that bolded part. When bad luck happens, you can get unexpectedly ganged up on by multiple fast enemies while you're stuck between a rock and a hard place and you die.
It rarely happens but it can happen and no amount of armor will save you when you get stunlocked to death, whereas more speed might have gotten you out of trouble.
But you pointed out the major issue with stamina that I have read everywhere online: the regeneration rate of stamina: It's too slow., even with Well Rested perk. What I'd like is that high quality stamina food have a higher regen rate. Waiting for a 200 stamina bar to fill back up while you do nothing is such a slog, it hampers the flow of the game. I've seen a video of a melee build defeat the Queen. That fight took 30min to finish due to having to wait for stamina regen, needed for dodging AND attacking . :caster_sad: A magic build did it in 8min. That's a very lopsided build preference there.
Anyways, I'm sure they will eventually add light armor for Plains and Mistlands in the far future but they better fix stamina first.
Wolves can be negated by making use of the terrain to either stop them from being able to reach you or making them have to path differently to reach you. In a sense they can be like Deathsquito's in that they can pop up and bite you in the butt if you aren't paying attention but a lot of their power can be circumvented due to them being bound to the ground.
Deathsquito's are easily neutered once you hit swamp and get the root chest piece armor which is also good against the spear chucking fulings and later on seekers. A player with some amount of skill, time and luck could come across an abomination before killing the Elder allowing them easier access to plains and the abundant cloud berries.
Stamina issues can be lessened via food and more importantly potions. Mead has zero cooldown. Beyond that Eykthir's ability is really good for moving around which can be better then bonemass if you are knowledgeable of the enemies you are fighting and aren't planning on tanking hits - much like players using Fenris armor in Plains or Mistlands sacrificing the armor for movement.

For people wondering if the root chest piece is worth it in the plains, when I get hit by a mosquito in full padded armor, it hits for about 20. With the root chest piece in place of the padded chest, it hits for about 5.
Also, I believe that the magic set is the Mistlands light armor. I wouldn't expect to get a third set there.
Added: It would be great if the light plains armor gives stamina regen, or a stamina reduction for jumping. That would be very helpful in Mistlands.

They say that plane crashes, etc usually are not due to one failure, but a chain of multiple failures. I think that applies here as well, and it's hard to say what one thing might have prevented a death.

Isn't the new eitr armor considered the light armor for ML?

Good question. It still gives negative speed penalty, albeit a smaller -4%.
Not as much as the Heavy Armors (-10%), but still... feels weird to classify it as light if it slows you down, I thought they were introducing it as a medium class armor.
In traditional fantasy games, mages are known for not wearing armors that slow them down. So this speed penalty is just odd to me, it's just a robe.
And the Eitr hood actually requires 2 iron to craft and that is the only piece that does NOT slow you down. The iron(y)!!

Root armor chest piece is super useful even in end game mistlands.

On Plains and Mistland, you can die so easily even with the best armor.
Without it, you have better odds of dodging & escaping since you're faster. This very principle is also used by ace players in the Soulsbourne franchise.
Mistlands I can understand, but how do you die easily in plains if you're well equipped? I was just wondering earlier today, as a fuling was beating me in the back while I chopped down a rock finger that it seems like they nerfed the fuling. Maybe it's the ML armor, but the stats don't seem much better than padded.
With a decent run skill and rested buff, I don't know of anything that I can't outrun in heavy armor, except for wolves and deathsquitos. I do it all the time, and that's with all health foods.
Without rested buff it can be touch and go at times, but I can't remember a death that was due to not being fast enough. All of my recent deaths have been due to a missed block/parry against, say a starred seeker soldier, which would have been exacerbated if I had been in light armor and/or eating stamina food.
I understand some enjoy the light-style combat, which is fine, and I think stamina regen should be fixed to make it more of a viable play style, but I don't think there's any inherent advantage to it. On the contrary. I think that most of the complaints about stamina come from the desire to play a light style, but with the inherent disadvantage that the stamina regen formula imposes on that style.

Plains: Lox Armor that buffs blunt weapons while also giving the player resistance to blunt damage. Perhaps gives a % bonus to healing.
Would require Lox Trophy, Lox Hide and some wolf hide and needles (since wolves can hunt you in plains - it would be more of a trim for the armor).
Mistlands: Misthare Armor that buffs slashing type weapons (or weapons that involve slash), increases jump skill by a bunch and decreases stamina use by some sort of % like 15 or 20 (a general buff to offset Mistlands more difficult terrain).
Would require Misthare trophy, Misthare hides, Magecap and linen. Magecap could be used as a dye or give a part of the item some sort of glow maybe like the soles of the shoes or something.
I wouldn't want either type of armor to be super bound to the progression of each particular biome like involving Black Metal or Eitr. More like you could access either type of armor when you've already been dealing with the previous biome and simply spending the time to get the trophy / additional requirements. Both armors would require the workbench.
edit: Root Armor could be changed to buff pierce based weapons which would include bows and spears. It would also be nice if light armor could be upgraded somehow to keep in line with progression of the generic heavy armors.

For most of the game the only light armour was troll and starter gear, they back filled swamp and mountain so will probably add plains at a later date, between now and the next biome like swamp/mountain.

Honestly, people who know what they're doing and are prepared are still getting one-shot KO'd by Mistlands creatures, and that's in heavy Plains armor. I'm not sure lighter armor than what we have is even going to be viable in the Mistlands.

Do people actually use the light armor? I never felt a need for it personally. I want the best survivability chance against attacks and I'm afforded that by the heavier armor.

People who have mastered the game mechanic and can confidently dodge all attacks don't use heavy armor since those give speed penalties. The light Fenris armor set gives a speed bonus even.
And honestly, I get it. Not my playstyle but I get it.

Fenris set is fine for the Plains when you know what you're doing.
