yo dude, you got m.2 and its doing this? for real? got it in first slot or second slot? is your operating system running on the same drive you installed valheim to? HDD's and SSD's and M.2. advice for people IF THEY DON"T KNOW. Always use two drives. Use one for your OS and the other for your stuff. Your OS constantly runs and accesses things to make it work and by using the other one for applications your system gets a HUGE boost of speed. example. smaller drive just to run OS, massive drive for games and apps. i dunno thats just me. hopefully that helps but i'm kinda shocked to be honest.

m.2 pci-e 4TB and m.2 pci-e 8tb the game doesn't even lag or anything when it saves for a split second. It doesn't seem logical that the game should cause anyones system to load or lag due to the fact that the save file is extremely small.

Due to this i feel that those who do suffer lag have either software or compatibility software issues i.e. every part in their system is from a different maker or they just have too much junk drivers and random other software. this is all far too common.

I have extremely long save times, in some areas it's upwards toward 10 sec+ I think the 'average' player experiences a bit of lag when it saves...as construction affects it, terrain manipulation affects it, etc...many hours played, many constructions in many locations. Areas of little world editing/constructions have much, much lower save times.

correct.

i would be fine with every 2 hours instead of 30 minutes. now that i am in mistlands, its about 5 seconds of lag every 30 minutes. the game warns you, but its still annoying.

I think the current auto-save is good but some kind of timer right before the save could be good. 30 seconds is quite a long time and you have time to forget the whole thing.

Yeah there is configurable autosave mod I disable the autosave entirely.
