I had the same issue with the new version. I uninstalled the game, deleted it's folder, and after reinstall it ran fine for me. I suspect it had something to do with old mods still ingering there or BepinEx version or something. Manually deleting the folder ensures theres nothing of this left and a new install is really "clean". Try it and tell wether it works. There was also a thread about this already if it does not work look there for other suggestions.

I'm an idiot. I had some old mods installed that I forgot about (haven't played in quite some time now) so I ended up deleting the folder and reinstalled. Works now, you're exactly right. Sorry, mods can lock this whenever.

Are you running any mods? If so, when was the last time they were updated.
