Question on Swimming
What is the highest skill score you have gotten on this?
Did you notice a change in swimming at all?
Was it speed/efficiency?
I constantly jump out of the boat with other vikings piloting the ship to get as much swim time in as possible but I die often as a berserker so I think my max is like 10-ish.
Thanks!

i suggest just not swimming if avoidable. even at 100 it's still shockingly bad. as with many skills that are stamina intensive in the game the difference between 0 and 100 is so minuscule. i really wish they'd add a perk every 25 levels like like less stamina drain then faster swim speed, ability to regain stamina while treading water and then no stamina drain ect.
A perk system with a skill tree that could be reset (for a cost) would be sweet!

Well man , you read pure BS because u didnt tested yourself if its anything like running and jumping, you wont even notice the difference. i read somewhere that the difference between 0 running and 100 running is like 5% slower stamina depletion. a complete joke. why even have skill levels at all if they're this insignificant and you lose them on death anyway.
100 running skill gives +25% run speed and -50% stamina usage
Looks like Its so hard to look at a wiki

Skills in general seem to feel like they're doing nothing until they cross an important threshold and suddenly you're mining rocks in two swings instead of three.

I leveled up my swimming a bunch for a while because there was an area that I knew I could get to if I swam and had enough stamina...not sure about my reasons of why I didn't at least build a small boat but I think my reasoning was that there was many rocks in the way, which also allowed me to swim there. I think also I did it because I wanted to see if I could do it.
Definitely worth leveling just so you can cross small areas of water easily...always useful in case you break a boat.
Not sure about this as on my highly leveled character, I jump so high and run so fast that I take a small bit of damage when I hit the ground, so I have to strafe whilst in the air. I only do this to level up jumping even further.

Well you are wrong , try to test on a character with running lvl 100 and another with 0 , both naked Running and swimming both been lvling them in my characters and ive seen absolutely NO DIFFERENCE having lvls or not having lvls. I doubt the skills work in other than the Weapon skills ... Even with Mining skill, it does absolutely no difference when mining. Same with woodcutting.
The only skills ive seen being useful has been weapon skills and even them barely any change.
Tell me how fast your stamina burns in the character with 0 skills and how fast run
I have minning skill at 75 and can mine a tin stone with one swing with a bronze pickaxe , with 0 you need 2 or 3 hits

There is a major difference as you level. At about 15 swimming, your stamina becomes quite manageable in the water, and around 25 you can swim for a couple minutes at decent speed. I can't count the number of times I was almost to shore and a sea serpent sinks our raft probably a quarter mile from shore and I've made it to land before drowning. (swimming 32 here, and yes, it took awhile lol)

So I looked for my characters and found two with swimming skills of 17. That's the highest of me. These characters continue to swim a few meters, with the same stamina as the others, before they are exhausted.

My highest swimming is 13, though my run is 80. The stamina drain while swimming does a fair job of keeping me out of the water.

I've gotten my swimming above 24 now and I'm not so queasy about swimming. I seem to swim faster and longer?? I'm trying to develop all my skills as I await further development of assets and mechanics; swimming, I feel is a core skill as there is so much water in these worlds.

The thing is that even the most basic stamina foods have 10x the effect of skill levels.

I'm not high either so i haven't noticed anything different. I have noticed the higher the stamina, the longer you can swim.
