Chickens, or the like.

When will we have chickens, and such, I wonder? The current process for getting feathers is positively torturous. So I was wondering, when will we have chickens? or goose? or tamable ravens, something that gives feathers.

I had a similar thought to OP, initially. I go through a lot of feathers and use the same methods others have mentioned for gathering them, which can take time. Hmm, chickens. Feathers and meat. Tame chickens get you that plus eggs. More recipes. We already have plenty of low level food so how about making it something along the lines of an ostrich in a later biome. Bigger, badder (beak and claws). Lizard-like armor. Fast. Able to ride if tamed? Chicken noodle soup. Need grain for for the noodles. Through in mushrooms and/or onions and/or...?

I always think of chickens when I find these little coop (?) structures in the meadows. Having chickens for meat, eggs, and feathers would be amazing.

I think this is a fantastic idea. Chickens are a good livestock, they can provide eggs which can improve the available recipes, and having them strut around the town pooping on stuff and chasing bugs would be awesome.

Keep them out of my bed.

Since we have boar and deer I don't see any reason to not have chicken at some point. But please no normal chicken. It has to be some tiers above boars at this point.

I like the tamable raven idea the most tho.

There are so many birds you can hunt with a bow. I've enough feathers. If you've enough practice, you need mostly only one shot to kill something. Just with flint arrows. Trolls and something like this kind of monsters need a few more shots, of course. But you won't fail very often if you've understand the mechanic of the bow.

If your hunting birds to get feathers, use wooden arrows. 100% effective, and they donโ€™t use up feathers.

Cutting down trees also sometimes drop feathers because the idea is that sometimes, nests are in them.
