The two angled beams are also considered roof structures (along with their crosses).

When I do outside fencing, I always use the angled beams since they don't decay and stay looking nice.

Cool! I'm gonna go check that out. The wiki says zero about it.

Weather/decay damage , only roofs dont get decay damage , so u most cover other building with roofs to evade that damage , but remember only get damage at 50%

What blankitosonic said - remember that the fence gates also weather age so you might want to build a simple roof over them. Or an elaborate guard house :-)

Stone won't decay. Also wood attached to it, mostly.

Soon as you get some iron you're good to go.
