Resin soaked Wood!

Can we please get something for the wood so we can build outside without placing a roof over everything!

Resin soaked wood would be a great crafting items and chew up some of this resin I have.

I'd rather see the deterioration happen on damages pieces from raids.

I don't know what you think Vikings had back then, but they sure didn't have the tools we do today to protect our wood. The wood you buy is not just "cut to size and sent out", it's treated so it doesn't warp and what not as quick. Like fences? Treated wood.

And it only goes down to 50%, it's not like it goes down to 1% and accidentally swinging your sword in the house breaks your whole house.

For everyone talking about burning everything down. Historically Vikings used Resin on their shoes and tar to waterproof items even ships. this is a game so they don't need to make it burn.

That's actually a great idea. Throw in the flammable mechanic too.
Thinking of burning down Fuling villages and smoking Greydwarfs' out of their forest is a tempting idea. Dark though.
Also it would backfire on players. Smoke intoxication is already in the game and those
thatch roofs just look so temptingly flammable as is.

Be careful what you wish for! Resin coated could also introduce a new "flammable mechanic" and burned down bases becomes the next big aggravator.
You're right though. Can't even enjoy a nice balcony without it causing rot.

Yes many times, it's even a historically accurate idea.

It only deteriorates to 50 percent right? I get it, doesn't look as nice, things aren't as straight, but the game's vibe is sort of "fantasy realism" and wood does weather in the... weather.

It's not like stuff will fall down without a roof, it just looks weathered.

This is the primary reason I use V+ I leave everything else in the game as is, but turn off water damage to wood. Would be nice if they added something like tar pitch or maybe another use for bees wax, but until then, V+ is your friend.

Meh, I think Resin has enough uses. I think this was what "Tar pits" was about in the early roadmap. Putting tar over wood would have helped it repel water damage. (And tbh be a very logical ship 'ingredient')
