The Forest Is Moving Seems A Bit Constipated

I'm taking the long route in my gameplay so on Day 980 I've only done the 1st boss. I've seen quite a few The Forest Is Moving events and since the H&H update they seem pretty lackluster. Maybe 1 Shaman and 1 Brute shows up but they seem to observe from afar. The lesser dwarfs do their usual thing but in smaller numbers. Once I wipe them quickly there can be a long gap before replacements arrive and then the timer runs out and it's over.

Anybody see similar?

Edit: I will say the overall numbers of random lesser dwarfs encountered just running around or making noise is somewhat higher than pre-H&H.

There are routes to iron without fighting bosses, you only need two ingots to unlock stone.

That and you can find scrap just sticking out of the ground if a swamp has steep terrain at the edges.

You don't have to run around *in* the swamp fighting things to snipe a few resources from the edges. My first playthrough was dedicated to seeing how much game I could unlock without bosses while the multiplayer group was offline. Day 980 suggests OP is doing something similar.

Similar experience with my wife and I. Was trying to build a resting stop, when a horde of dwarves came at us. My god, that was crazy. Two brutes, three shamans, and about ten or so regular dwarves. Mind you, we both died once in that encounter before we managed them after.

Hello, fellow strider! I was at day 750 just exploring and claiming the Meadows and the Black Forest. I wanted to be more confident face to brutes and trolls before triggering further wrath from the Fallen. That means that I never met with the Forest Is Moving event.

Whatever... as compared to others' posts, it looks like the new Forest Is Moving event can only properly trigger over a new territory. Can you confirm this?

And yes, in a new world (and any new territory in an explored world?), I'd say that the strength of normal encounters has doubled (i.e. like two greylings, or 3 greydwarves, when you chop trees down far away from dwarves' bases).

Day...980 and only first boss killed. I'm legit curious as to what in the world are you even doing? You can't even be building giant castles cause you can't get iron and thus no stone cutter.

If he is fine running around killing mobs in swamp and hunting for the super rare surface scrap piles, they why the hell he ain't killed Elder yet?

Think harder next time. This guy isn't setting foot in swamps yet,
