Those vegvesir stones give you a map pin for the closest matching boss altar. You can zoom out on your map to see where you need to go. You may need to build a boat to cross some water. (Don't build a raft if you can help it.) Stay out of swamps and plains on your trek to the Elder's altar. Bring the means to build a portal!

Yeah I did a search and it was the first one that popped up. So what?

The fact was that when I got to the rune that showed where he is supposed to be, it showed in a big ass circle that was completely unexplored, so I don't even know where to begin looking for him. Just found another black forest, so hopefully I'll get another place to find his location.

There exist multiple instances of each boss altar. (It has also been possible for a boss altar to not spawn in the mountains!) Since they'll all be in the same Meadows biome, you're not unlikely to find all three of Eikthyr's.

You'll find stones giving you the map location of the second boss as you explore the Black Forest. These are located in Burial Chambers and in the occasional ruined tower. You'll similarly find stones for future bosses as you explore their biomes.

Yeah I found one, but ... the location it showed me didn't help. Here's some random unknown location without any reference to where you are. GOOD LUCK is what that rune tablet showed me lol

Explore dungeons in Black Forest area. Boss location revealing stone somewhere there.

If you remember, the location for the first boss was revealed to you at the beginning of the game when you inspected a square rune stone in the altar circle. You have to find and inspect rune stone for each and every boss respectively. The rune stone you're looking for is found in the Black Forest biome. You'll find it inside Burial Chambers (dungeons), or just randomly laying around ruined buildings.

Explore the dark forest zone and there are a couple of ways to get hints. You might come across a ruined stone tower: the rune-stone at the base will have the location. Also the crypts in the area will have a similar rune-stone in the treasure room. (the layouts of the crypts are randomized, and it is possible for them to have no treasure room, but that seems to be the exception, I just got unlucky with the first one I found)

Yeah, perfectly normal. There are multiple for each boss, and the first boss ones are always fairly close to your starting point, for obvious reasons.

i wonder what the trigger is of revealing a second boss (so 2 of the same boss) summoning point cause ive only had that happen once so far.

maybe it reveals the closest possible location where you currently are?

oh I see.. so .. you only find hte LOCATION of the elder altar ... well shoot.. its location showed up in a completely unexplored area. Don't I need him to get into the iron age?

You can get a *little* iron without the Elder, certainly not enough for armor or upgrades.

There are multiple boss spawn points and they can all be identified. Any of the rune stones will point you to the closest one to it. If you explore the opposite way you will find a rune stone for another.
