Using Elite Xbox controller. The only issue that pops-up. Is know way to label markers / signs with the controller. So I keep wireless mouse and keyboard near by for labeling.

Back when I used to play this around launch I used a controller and it was decent. There was a little jank in the menu but it was rather unnoticeable after getting used to it.

Controller support is better than at the launch. You can now actually switch tools and things using a controller. However there is currently a very annoying bug that causes RT and LT to switch their actions. When this happens you cannot use a controller to place any builds, and building is a big part of the game.

I just posted a separate thread on bugs talking about it since it's been a real issue. Some people say restarting the game fixed it for them, but I've had to reinstall it to fix it. However the past few times it hasn't fixed the issue. If you want to play with a controller I also recommend having a wireless mouse you can use to place builds if it happens.

I use a PS4 controller and love it. Same restrictions as Rex mentioned but that doesn't bother me.

I only play with xbox controller and its ok. Get voice attack , it helps with no hot keys on controller and sometimes you NEED a heal fast (or keep a keyboard close and put heal in #1 slot) .I only play solo and voice attack works perfectly in this and all other games and I dont have to remember all the different controller setups for my way to big steam library.

I use an Xbox controller for traveling, mining and easy combat.
I take M&K back as soon as I have to open some menus, for heavy fighting or for the bow. (Aiming with controller is just not one of my many skills, lol).

I use an Xbox clone controller on my PC and find it very enjoyable, only a few things that you can't do without a KB/M; naming locations on the overview map and text entry for signage...other than those things, I consider it great controller support, since that is my preference.

Thanks!! lol, oh, means KB/M, LOL.....still can't compare though, using WASD for movement is painful for me

M&k is mouse and keyboard..
