Day 13

I have a question about the skeletons. I was along the edge of the DF & meadows when I saw a cabin. It was right on the edge, so I figured it would be safe enough. I didn't see any caves or towers. Couldn't find a door, so I made one with my ax. I peeked inside and saw a chest. Great! Then I heard this low growl that I have not heard before, stepped back, and there was a skeleton heading for the cabin. Not me at first, only after I took the loot.

I ran off, but realized I needed bones for armor upgrade, and to my surprise he was following me. So, I took him out. Gathered the bones and anything else it dropped and headed out, only to have another one come out of the DF into the meadow after me. He had a shield & sword. Yikes. Well I managed to take that one out as well and collect what dropped.

So, I ran back to my place in the meadows and there's a another one! What the heck is he doing in the meadows!? Was it after my place? 1st time I have seen a skeleton so close.

Took it out as well. I am glad they weren't all together.

There are stone structures in the meadows that spawn skellies at night. Three upright stones with a stone roof. If you see one of those, that's where he came from.

Ohhh. Well then. There was one up by the cabin I found, and there is one in the woods just north west of my place.

Thanks for the warning. I was getting leather scraps and hide so I could make a shield. Best do that first thing tomorrow.

Can they be destroyed?

THANKS!

You'll see stone cairns, usually the one's that have a flat stone with two standing stones leaned over it, or a variation of. It's a grave from which a skeleton may spawn and may have loot under it.
(Irl burials would be done this way when deep diggining wasn't practical and because the large heavy stones would deter grave robbers and animals from digging up the corpse).

But people who could move these huge stone slabs could also do more. Usually, they would cover them with smaller stones or/then earth, so as to make a true burial mound (or cairn or barrow). There are several examples in Western Europe, of varied sizes, and when they are in the state the game depicts them (3 or more slabs forming at least a table), they say that the above-mentionned coverage has been removed by pillagers, villagers (to get building materials), or erosion.
