Mini-gamer: I wonder how many trees I can get to knock each other down? Also, points for mob kills by falling trees. Wow! Look at that six tree chain reaction!
Need copper ore?
Grumpy Grinder: bang bang bang, damn interruptions, bang bang bang.. fill cart drag home.
Mini-gamer: I think I''ll summon trolls and greylings, I could use hide and eyeballs. Banging on this copper node ought to bring them running. Then I'll loot and go to the next one!

10 real time minutes. Not 10 game minutes and it was a smaller node.I had a troll mine an entire copper ore deposit for me today. It was kind of tricky getting him to line up his shots with his log to hit the ore. I'd roll out of the way and he'd still miss the ore some times. Took all most 10 minutes to get him to get all the ore mined for me which was about the same amount of time it would have taken me to mine it myself but I didn't have to repair my pick this way.
How do you mine an entire copper deposit in 10min? It usually takes a few in-game day for me to mine the entire thing, granted I like to do it by digging underneath to also collect stones, but still. 10min sounds low for the whole thing.

LOL Had that happen once, jumped off a rock to avoid a Troll attack and landed on the head of a greydwarf. Fun for all!

I like to chop down a tree, then attempt jumping on it and running to roll it over mobs. Good fun.
Or ride one from one side of a river to another running on them.

yes, if you make a tree farm, make it on a slope, and cut the highest trees first.

@knighttemplar1960 Yep that's exactly the kind of thing I meant, finding alternatives that are entertaining and fun instead of a boring grind that, in the end, both accomplish the same goal(s). I'll have to give Troll mining a try :)
Admittedly I'm still trying to find a mini-game to entertain myself with while exploring via ship rather than on foot. Sea serpent hunting I suppose, or Levi hunting, but both are rather rare (except when you don't want to run into a serpent lol).
