You want to pick up wood, fir cone, dandelion and bone for the tree and presents. Having them will trigger the build options. Oh wait I forgot one... is it mushrooms?

Also raspberries <not mushrooms>, fine wood, turnips, iron nails and leather straps

Fine wood for presents/containers, regular wood for tree, turnips for keeping the turnip light <YAY>, iron nails and leather straps for the armor rack.

Take some fine wood out of a chest into your inventory, that worked for me.

You need a fir cone to make the tree. The presents are finewood and berries. Sometimes you have to pull the pieces out of storage to trigger the recipe.
