Public Servers

It would be useful to know of public servers and their up time, so we can join to level up and stuff.

Also, is there ever going to be a way that you and your ten friends can access your server independently of the person who made it?

There are public servers that have a whitelist for example joutunheim you can apply to join on the discord and usually around 15-20 players on at any time

Surprising how far some people will go to ruin another persons in-game experience.
I mean I know their are probably tons of ways around it, but if you put those Totems that protect the doors/chests, and keep them hidden, isn't your base pretty much not able to broken into ? I am thinking of starting a open server on my streams so I probably need to look into this more, like can they destroy my walls, doors etc or is it 100%

Keeps them from building or opening doors not from destroying things.

Unless modded, the wards will not prevent anything from being destroyed.
You can use them to keep doors/chests locked, but someone could still take a weapon and break the door/chest or even find and destroy the ward; disabling any preventions.

Then once you get into trying to protect vs mods, there really isn't a solution. Any time someone has made "anticheat" someone else just make a mod to bypass it.

"you can bosses unlimited times"

That is true - but the first player who kills a boss sets/increases the difficulty level for everybody else on the server. So any latecomers have to play with tough monster raids (relative to their own "develepment level") and some more or less "unbeatable" monsters roaming around (especially at night).
And then we have lovely things like "griefing and trolling"....

I, under no stance have been able to find any info on public servers. I know a couple people who once played on some and there are quite a few youtubers videoing with them. I cannot find any anywhere though. Is there any place such servers may be listed?

And Im specifically meaning to ask for public. Full on server lists, Ive found plenty but non of them are public

You are likely not going to find any "open" public games... There are no "official servers"

The game is designed to be solo and / or "co-op with friends" which means up to 10 players who trust each other, working together to play the game. NOT an open world MMO.

If you truly want to find somewhere to play with others, go to the "Looking for Group" sub-forum.

Almost no one is willing to host a public server. Trolls have ruined that idea by wrecking builds, killing all the bosses, that kind of stuff.

You can host a dedicated server that your friends can join with out you having to be online, but the dedicated server has to be running .
As far as I know, there are no public servers.

"Public servers" are just servers run by people who don't put a password on when they start a community server. Generally unsavory to play on because of low brow human nature on full display. Rent a dedicated server or have somebody in your group built it/run it, then it can be up all the time. Unless you're ready for griefing, or are griefers yourselves, maybe your group should avoid random public servers. This isn't a MMO, if that's the experience you're looking for.
