Just a heads up, everyone describes this game as a survival game, but it does things very differently to the typical survival game.

Not a bad thing, but things like food and water aren't your top priority. It's a unique spin on the whole survival/craft genre.

Its an Craf/Build RPG with a Norse(Viking) Theme. Its NOT a survival game.

Your a Viking that has failed Oden and was brought here to Valahala to reform learn and survive. Play as solo or in mp.
Fight with Odens creatures and explore sailing in long ships or Karve. Build gret bases or a village.
I love the fact I can log out of my solo game log into my server side as it uses the same map play with a group have a ball help each other out then log out of server retaiining inventory wepons from server to solo.

It's about playing Valheim.

Mostly vikings and Norse mythology. A B C - Adventure , building , crafting, And Norse mythology with a 21st century gen x kinda vibe.

Minecraft but with meat and 2 veg......and beards.....

Umm.. well those are both survival games, and Valheim is definitely also a survival game. Now Rust is a fast-paced survival game that caters itself to PvP while rewarding players who are willing to take risks. Valheim is definitely then more similar to Minecraft where you invest a lot into the equipment you carry around while decorating your home base to be your perfect dream home. PvP is so badly implemented in this game that it effectively doesn't exist. Also there's a penalty for dying so the game definitely favors a more cautious and thoroughly prepared approach.

Basically this.
do know that you need to learn recipes by getting new materials, also you need a mid game stone cutter to make stone walls. The game also has physics, so unlike minecraft which has floating blocks, this game doesn't really do that. Build stuff too high with ordinary wooded beams and such and you will fail. You need to make actual support, it's kinda tricky early on but you can easily get the hang of it.

It's most like Minecraft, a PvE focused survival game. Bosses unlock access to new gear/abilities and progress to survive in harder biomes. The game punishes carelessness as you have to do a corpse run and lose 5% of your current skills, so learn from your mistakes and play careful and you'll do fine. Zerg into every situation and it'll suck.

So Odin created a 10th world where he threw away things he didn't want to deal with.
He then keeps throwing random vikings from Valhalla down to deal with his problems.

If you deal with the problems, you get to go back to Valhalla.

Other than that, you can completely ignore your duties and just build massive bases everywhere.
