ALT+F4 Game of the Year!
Wow, what a brutal game - I thought Elden Ring was the ALT+F4 King, but this games blows it away.
20+ deaths and I am only nearing the end of the Bronze Age.
The game design is incredible,; no matter how bad a gamer you are, you can always be progressing.
I just discovered Portals, so I am either going to push real hard for the 2nd boss, or take a few days to just chill out, build my base and explore - it doesn't matter.

No, once you know how to deal with the very few dangerous creatures this game becomes way too easy and no I also disagree that this game blows Elden Ring out of the water in terms of difficulty.
ER is on a whole different level in every imaginable way. The AI is incredible and also uses input reading to screw you up even more if you suck at fighting so no it´s not even a comparison to ER at all.
All Valheim has to offer are a couple enemies that hit unusually hard to make it appear like a difficult game masking how poorly and crude the combat mechanics are done.

And yet, no matter how good you are, or how well-equipped, you're seldom more than a bad decision or two, or a little neglect, away from death. It's really great at that balance.You said it! The Plains are especially unforgiving. You forget to eat, run into a previously undiscovered Tarpit you didn't hear, or that 2-star Spear Fuling you didn't notice behind the bush over there. Doesn't take much.

This so much! Overconfidence is what kills me the most in this game!

Sometimes, I strip down to ragged leather and wooden weapons, then battle as deep as I can into the swamp.
Don't misunderstand, I often don't last very long, and rarely succeed in a kill when I do this.. But what a frelling great ride! I love Valheim!
