Can't wake up.
Tried to build a house to repair my axes. Carried a lot of weight back to my half of a tiny hut. Then I get next to my fire and my guy falls asleep standing up. I am stuck in this animation for 20 real life minutes now.
How to fix?
How to fix?

Personally I hope they keep the 'no-move-at-0-stamina-when-encumbered' mechanic. It all comes down to planning and managing weight and stamina. There are tools to address such things (like the cart) so it is not like players have no options.
If you choose to toss and move that option exists as well, but the no-movement thing is a good risk vs reward mechanic. Do you risk getting caught by mobs with 0 stamina and unable to move? And if you toss something to become 'unencumbered' and able to move again will your stamina replenish fast enough to save your hiney?
And I believe the raven tells the player about encumbrance and its effects, but I will have to play more attention to the narrative to see if it mentions no movement.

You hijack my post which was asking for help to poke fun at me. Neither of your posts had any relevant information. Don't pretend you ever were trying to help.I was tired myself. I was also thinking yet another bug occurred since he couldn't wake up, and thought he would wake up after 20 seconds or so. When he didn't wake, I decided to search in this forum for answers. There were none. During that time I then posted this forum post. That all took about 20 minutes, cause I like to search thoroughly before asking questions.
Even in WurmOnline, the grindiest game I had played for 4 years back in 2008-2012, your character would move at a crawl until it is over weight, not based on stamina.
So... you go ahead and be a jerk cause you played with others that taught you the ropes like a newb while pretending you were smart on your own, and forgetting they taught you. You were also given a boost being dependent upon friends to gift you their gear and share houses so you don't have to collect your own resources with base equipment to build your houses. You watched videos of streamers to guide you through first, instead of diving right in.
Like I said, bugs galore. The game crashed when I created my own server, the first time. The tutorial crow kept flashing the same recipe over and over within 1 second. etc, etc.
"Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone"
Just to be clear, when I started this game I did indeed stay away from guides/youtube/etc as I enjoy the whole process of figuring things out for myself. Troubleshooting is all about trying different solutions until you find one that works.
Obviously you prefer to have the answer simply handed to you, hence why your first impulse was to search forums/google/etc. And that is totally fine, different strokes for different folks.
What is not fine, though, is insulting someone for what they find humorous. I didn't insult you, but if you feel that I did....well I can't help you navigate your own insecurities.

I never, at any point, made any claim to be offering to help you. Given how unpleasant you are in your posts, I wouldn't offer to help you regardless.
It's called a forum, the very definition is:
a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
My original post was simply an expression of MY view that standing there for 20 minutes without trying something to fix the problem was funny.
Now I'm going to express another view:
It is my opinion that you are an overly sensitive and defensive person who could do with laughing at your own expense once in a while.

Anything to stretch game play out. AIR? They need to get rid of the stop movement part of the carry mechanic. If you carry over the weight limit you should just move to a crawl, not completely stop. Why it doesn't work is that you can easily toss the item in front of you, walk forward to pick it up, walk until you stop and repeat. It doesn't do anything but add extra steps, thus wasting more of the players' time.
Sad thing is I could not build a pile of rocks nor pile of wood. My character fell asleep 2 feet from my workbench. I thought I had to eat something.
The tutorial bird should come down and tell you why you cant move. (That bird has so many bugs I've seen today.)
I'd really like for the devs to remove the stopped movement and no stamina regain for being over weight. This is what new players see in their game. Looked more like a game breaking bug when it first occurred. I was about to refund. I was 80 minutes into the game, there's still time. :/

More than anything, I just think it's super funny that you just stood there for 20 minutes without trying anything at all to change your situation.

I 'interval walk' when needed. Meaning when overburdened I throw items in front of me, regain stamina, walk just past the items on the ground and then pick them up, walk, repeat.
Usually moving ore from cart to storage type situation.
OR the developers could have stealth added narcolepsy to the game.
Who really knows?

Yes. I am carrying too much, but walked 20 feet back into my partial house. I guess I thought dropping items would destroy them. My stamina is not regaining while sleeping standing up. Think u are carrying too much, throw some stuff on the ground, see if that changes it.

Stamina runs out from the point you get encumbered to the point where it hits 0. That's why you can walk a little before your character is too exhausted to move further.
For stamina to regain, you need to reduce the weight you are carrying. If you managed to have a chest in reach, you can put stuff there; otherwise you have to throw it on the ground. If it's within the radius of a workbench, it won't despawn at all, IIRC. If it's in the wild, it should despawn after a couple of in-game days.

You’re out of stamina while encumbered. You can’t move. You need to regain stamina to move again. Drop items until you aren’t encumbered again and it’ll solve itself.
Items aren’t lost when dropped and linger for quite a long time. When you start smelting ores, your ingots will just drop loose on the ground. As long as they’re in range of a workbench, they should remain forever.

Yes, If you're overburdened, you can keep moving (but no jumping or running) until you run out of stamina. Then you just stop. As you've already noted, your stamina does not return and won't as long as you are overburdened. You're not sleeping. You just have zero energy and will stay that way until you dump the extra weight. Your stuff will just lay there for a long, long time. Once your stamina is replenished, you can pick the stuff back up and continue, but you'll run out of stamina and stop moving again. You can do this over and over again until you get where you're going. Actually, this is what carts are for.

You could solve this by logging out and back in. Resets your stamina bar.

Just throw the heavier items. You'll regain stamina and your items won't be lost you can pick them up again.
