Cauldron Stirs more annoying than Skeleton Raids
These things had tendencies to kill all my tames. So far, I placed my wolves indoors and my Boars in Barns, my Lox however... I wish Bats only raided Mountain, Swamp & Blackforest.

My Lox destroyed his stable, and trying to attack the bats. That's the thing. Buggers are the most annoying thing currently. The Iron Sledge is a great weapon for dealing with a lot of "issues" but having access to it is not a given. I had one save where I was well and truly into the plains and still hadn't managed to get an elite Draugur trophy.
You still have to kite the buggers away from your tames otherwise bashing away with the sledge or stagbreaker will destroy your fences/walls and as stated above if you miss one or two say goodbye to your tames.

You can farm dead body piles for elite draugr trophies since they can spawn them at a much better rate then you will find them otherwise

I like how invasions can be different, but that does sound like an oversight. I don't even have tamed animals except for some lox in a separate location... There's got to be better solution than using windmills for traps or somehow confining the animals into some bunkers. <_>
I don't really like requesting features, but having some AI for the animals to make them properly flee or go to a "rally point" during certain types of invasion would probably do the trick. Taming is already such a chore, it doesn't seem right that all the work can be undone by bats of all things.

Honestly as soon as you have access to Iron Sledge you should permanently have one on you just in case IMHO. Stagbreaker / Iron Sledge are the best against bats imo.

Yeah you just have to put most things in doors which for lox yes that can be a problem but earthen walls/pit/both and covering a lox pen can really help even though its tedious to set up. Also bats take damage from windmills. You may not be able to use lots of those to protect but it could help.
Alternatively, having separate maps(think of them like portal worlds) for each boss for fighting and your main for farming etc can mean you only deal with the initial boar/neck event too.

I feel for you! Had similar experiences and really wish old Haldor sold "Alfar mercenaries" that could guard your bases in such times. Most tame animals cant defend against the flyers at all causing hours of effort taming to go puff in <90 seconds.. Not fun.
And yes I DO KNOW we can kite the buggers away in many cases. (Lets leave aside the logic fail of LEAVING your fort to defend your "Fort" for a moment)
But in several other cases if you miss one or two they wreck your crops and animal stocks even if you got most of them away from your base where you can sledge the boogers!
