campfire issues

My campfire is in a spot in the wall of my house with its own roof. It keeps going out for a few seconds and then comes back on for a few seconds... Is this the way it is intended? I can't sleep or warm up or dry off because it keeps going out. Yes, it has plenty of wood in it. It happens anytime day or night, good weather or not... Rest of the game seems to work great.

If you don’t have ventilation the smoke, Smothers it, so make sure you have made roof where smoke can escape.

Smoke needs a full size square to vent and even a single beam can get in the way

The roof is to close the the walls and is smothering your fire.
Use the long post to separate the walls from the roof and you will be okay.
The short poles will do this to you and also if you have the roof right off of one of the walls.
