To eat food put it on a hotkey, or, open your inventory and right click it. "F" key activates whatever power that you have active :-)

I agree with you that making those icons in the lower right corner clicky would be very handy.

Like any survival game those food icon mostly are to indicate when you need to eat. If you forget the game even will tell you which is fantastic because most survival games won't even do that. I felt the same at first but I've gotten so used to just opening the inventory window that its just something automatic now.

You need to plan Forsaken power use, as the animation to trigger it takes a couple seconds where you can't do anything else, and a great way to die if you are being swarmed in combat.

Note for group play, if a player triggers a Forsaken power, all close by players get the buff as well, so you can coordinate use to get more uptime.

Add to note- You can also have multiple powers going at the same time. But if you activate the same buff it just resets the timer.
