fr tho its wack that it just INSTA KILLS THE OWNER OF THE DAMN THING, i was just choppin trees and it just nuked me with 3 types of food and carapace gear, with a single carapace missille, didnt even take 2 shots i was just gone

well Mistlands is out for public usage.. if you find stuff report it.. the ballista I reported the first day, should it be like that killing everything in range, friends and foes. Maybe it should be like that.
Well its for event and raid stuff when they are attacking .
awsome when you play on a server with people.. they cant get near your base .. I like it :)

My friend and i tested this the other day. without blocking wooden ammo did 10.4 dmg, black metal 24.6. i was in fully upgraded root armor. blocking dropped those numbers significantly. so idk how you get oneshot by it unless you have no health to begin with?

you could use it to train block perhaps? Or just die and lose all your progress

The following is a copy-paste of my comment on another topic about the same thing:
I love it being without any IFF systems (stands for Identification Friend or Foe).

I suggest making it upgradable like a workbench. Without any upgrades, it's a manual, player-operated turret with a somewhat narrow field.
Change its base stats if needed and add upgrades for:
pitch+yaw,
turn speed,
auto targeting,
ammo capacity,
projectile launch speed
and finally - IFF (PvP). This would replace the auto-targeting upgrade.

But I'd like it the most if no upgrades exist and that it has no IFF or is just plain manual.

It's like the ED-209 from Robocop.

it really just needs iff and to debuff the hell out of its damage, being able to oneshot a fully armored player that just ate is insane

Just put it up on a troll cave for the spawn kills, or build a structure near a spawner for resources you need and run around collecting when it's empty.

This is the funniest thing I've seen in game.

The devs say its ment to do this, but how are you going to give it ammo, without dying to it?
I would advice not to use it, unless you play with a mod that fixes it, or the devs them selfs does something about it.

It's an automated defense with a victim complex. Thinks the whole world is out to get it, so it shoots first.
