Rule of Thumb: If you wanna craft things with ingredients from biome X, you'll mostly need to build workstation upgrades which are unlocked by resources in the same biome X.
For Sausages it's Spice Rack I think.

Interesting thought and completely accurate; but begs the question: do you think then we'll get food/craft/tool upgrades every biome/level as the game is fleshed out? Seems logical but makes me wonder if strictly "needed"
Funny I hadn't thought about the progression in quite those terms, but if accurate I think the devs are making more work for themselves for small gains.

There are three upgrades for the cauldron that I know of. You have the spice rack, as described above, the pots and pans, and the butcher's table. You need iron for those, though. There are a number of new recipes you can make in the cauldron once you have iron and turnips. Some that used to be in the cauldron, like Bread and Lox Meat Pie, have been moved to the oven. You make them in the cauldron, then bake them in the oven before you can use them. Enjoy!

Cauldron now have update lvls when before not : you need lvl 2 to make sausages , to do this make a spice rack : 3 turnips 2 carrots 5 mushrooms 3 thistles and 3 dandelions , hanging close to cauldron
