I mean other than the food changes which I think are garbage and should have never made it to a live update (I question if they even tested them they are so bad imo) I think this patch is still a lot of fun. So I would still give it a positive review.

Personal opinion after playing both with a new and one midgame character (pre swamp boss):
The new food and stamina system works fine. You still chug food like a madman and you are fine for the most part. At best you may need a tasty mead if you get into trouble but so far, even fighting 2 trolls and a small horde plus shaman at once, I had no issues with my midgame character.

And I primarily use my bow (only using shield and sword for Trolls cause parrying is more powerful)

I should also mention that I am using Muck Shake, Boar Jerky and Sausages as food for combat and exploration. It works fairly well, so well that I could probably switch to more stamina instead.

You have to buy the game to review it so at minimum of $5000*whatever price you paid for it.

Bear in mind that recent reviews with low hours are likely *new* players who don't have the previous state of the game to contrast with. It's the players comfortable with their serpent stew + lox pie + meat diet who got their panties in a wad. (I didn't love the extremity of the changes either, but wasn't put off by them.)

You base than on what? Ghosts and rumors?

8 million copies sold, so plenty of people left a positive review, and haven't bothered to change it for the update, and some people have liked the update, I wasn't a fan of some of the changes, but the very first patch pretty much fixed the issues for me :)

Bows aren't rapid cannons, but they reduced the stamina cost, so you can aim, it feels fine now :)


The food changes were brutal, but they have given back some stamina on the health items, and it feels fine now :)


Just saying, it's still a good game, and I have left my positive review up :)

I selected based on reviews added or changed on the day hearth and home was added. not lifetime reviews

and wasn't discussing bows, other than to explain the fact that the old blocking system wasn't over powered vs trolls because there was an even stronger option in place. But might remove that section because its bound to confuse some who don't read it fully.

i honestly dont give a lot about bot rewievs
its the ususal "boost it up" stuff that takes place in allmost every game review section

I just brought up bows because it was one of the negative aspects of the update they fixed :)


But I hadn't noticed the influx of reviews on Hearth and Home release date, bit your right, a decent amount was probably bots xD

But many may have been legit, steam has started pushing valheim again, so we're bound to get some new players :)

Yeah I noticed most of the recent "reviews" are under 20hrs gameplay with comments like "Mee liikee gaem" and other nonsense.

Bots

I started a new game yesterday. Honestly I havent seen anything new yet the game look and feel the same as i remember several month ago
In the new game i unlocked copper/tin ect and have a basic house ect so we are talking the start of the game. I dont know what changed later on but will be interesting to see.
But i also only visited 2 different biomes and defeted the first boss ect.
Just saying so far no complaints from me.

ps. I did notise that it was allot more easy to find the second boss than last time i played.. all Thombs i visited had a a hint, several month ago when i played last time it was rare to find the hints this fast.

Since all games from that Pubisher have extreme high rates you must be no Rocket Ingeneer to understand. Well except you are steam

And I'm not commenting on the total reviews, nor am I saying they make bad games. Please read my post again and especially the part where I said previous to this update I myself was a huge fan, also read the part where I said this is specifically related to the timestamped reviews on and shortly after the date the update launched.
