Days and difficulty
Question: Does the number of days have anything to do with the difficulty? Example: Is the game more difficult at day 200 or 300 than day 10 or 30, regardless of the bosses you killed or the areas you discovered?

Full padded armor? Why care about a boar or neck they do .01 damage and the like with that armor on.
I believe he's regarding the swarm in the context of his post(ie 1 map for bosses 1 map building (ie to avoid events)) to mean that the situation on his build map is trivial due to his being in padded armor and not some pejorative meaning.
yes this is what I meant, the events annoy me so I opt out of them by doing the bosses on another seed that way the events are trivial but i still have access to all the upgrades.

Days definitely don't effect anything, I've beat the bosses on one seed and and do all my base building on another. I have full padded and when there is a boss minion attack I'm just getting swarmed with boars and necks.

No not at all. My wife does not play the game the way the rest of you do... all she does is build build build. 1st boss not even killed and she has over 1000 hours and over a "in game" year... I forgot how much further.. anyway, no nothing changes at all.

Pretty sure the days don't affect anything.
The difficulty is set by the biome you're currently in, and the monsters that spawn there.
There are game events (monster raids) that are triggered randomly, and those are set by the bosses you've beaten. Some events start only after you beat a certain boss, and continue only up to the point where you defeat the next boss, then they stop. Other raids become a permanent part of the game after that, and can randomly happen at any time.

days past and exploration progression dont change a thing
beating bosses increases the "difficulty" by adding raids and stronger enemys to the game world
