Any tbh, its not the gear that makes you strong its the food.
Flit spear scales ok into late game because of its turbo low stamina cost, thou Mistlands might be a streach... Plains/Swamp i often do exactly that in my games.

Everything else will depend on food, if i can have mistlands food, starting area gear is enough to fight "normally" in plains and anything below...

But to answer the question... still Swamps probably because you can play normally with this gear there (using meadows best hp food). Plains would be easy to traverse but teadious to actually do stuff. Same with mistlads but worse since seekers dont have 10hp.

Also weird Mountain is not on the list... you can traverse terrain with campfires and caves are plenty doable with bronze shield/flit spear already, i usually skip all metal armor and go straight troll->fenris->endgame.

Swamps, because troll armor is good enough to deal with the mobs there, assuming you got a mace and a skeletal shield and poison res pots.

I like to start every biome naked! (in Valheim in my shorts, I wonder if there is a naked mod?? ) anyways what I did before entering the swamps mountains and plains I would strip everything and store my gear in chest and then make sure I have a high rested buff and high food stamina but carry one stamina Mead, I then would leg it through the Biomes just reconing the land, so if died and I did die a lot it didn't matter. I still come across a old headstone every now and then, are memories😢

Id choose swamp. I like sausages. I also like blood. Suprising amount of blood in the swamp. I wonder if the leeches hide underwater from the deathsquitos.

I have a playstyle I am doing that is essentially that. This strategy is highly effective in the swamp. You can pretty much sneak around in the swamp. I would first just easily level sneaking in the meadows and maybe black forest but yeah, I wanna see if I can play it like an assassin, but mostly passive

I got enough deer hides and leather scraps to make a tanning rack and a crude bow from just special attacking or ambushing deer with a flint knife. Even when I could make my bow, I didn't do it right away.

I also think the boss in the Ashlands you should only be able to fight them naked! It'll be like the scene that film The Northman!

I dont understand the riddle... if i need a resource i go get it.. ive defeated moder.. but have only a few Ice caves.. dress appropriately for each Biome. Choose weapons based on suspected enemies.. there are no tiers in this game you progress... call that tiers if you like.. i have 4 sets of armour on stands at base so i guess im wearing 5th Tier gear

Well pre mistlands i would say Swamp. it would be the most challenging if this is your first viking. Plains the squitos will get you the first couple times, or a lox will chase you up a mountain. Now with mistlands...I havent died there yet because I was paranoid and prepped but yea its a nightmare. Especially before the very needed balance to the ants, parry smack them with frostner and they acted like it tickled smh.

So.. we're discussing how the biomes are when you first enter them, assuming you bothered to bring decent gear from the previous biome?

Mistlands is the worst. The mobs hit like a truck, sure, but they're manageable - the problem is the mist makes it take forever to find anything. You can sprint the plains, or sail passed, and raid villages willy nilly. Mistlands is like finding a needle in a hay stack with a drop of dew for a magnifying glass.

Swamp is the hardest. It's the first real long boat ride you'll ever have to do, arrive cold wet and unrested, spawns are relentless. Sure you can set up in a side biome before dipping toes, but even so you've a good chance of wave after wave of graydwarf and trolls before you can even get a portal down and port home to rest. Then you can fight for several in game days against waves of dragur, skeletons, leeches, and blobs to try to even get into the swamp to poke around.
Of course, it can go the other way too - pull up karve into a shallow, whack it down, throw up a portal in a building, bam swamp set up. Nothing much spawns and you're good to start hitting crypts. It's really quite weird, swamps are either 0 or 100 - no inbetween.

^^^ Yep the steepest learning Curve for a beginner is Swamp.low vis, low gear, aerial enemies... and darkness tod balance confusing at first. unles u happen upom a plains like i did and died in ocean on a raft.:-) beginner trap :-) was way to far from anything

I'm going with swamp. Not really because of the gear, but because most are unprepared in other ways. Bronze/troll are fine in swamp, iron is more than enough in plains, and padded is more than enough in mistlands, but you're going to get hit more in swamp because you're not going to expect the strength of the enemy.
